Equality it seems does not merely include me
Does gender imply polarity?
You have instilled within me that I am to remain meek
Pressing lies upon me as if I were weak
Your face contorts as you proclaim your inferiority
Though I detest this false authority
With bewilderment you curse at my femininity
Equating my worth to my virginity
As if it were meant to be lost
Or relative to an item with a cost
I apologize for my incompliance as this is not what my mother taught
My presence is obtrusively viewed as invitation
Open to inevitable condemnation
As if I needed affirmation
A social construct with no explanation
So here I sit and openly pitch a fit
To tell you the tale in how I refuse to submit
