I like to generally think of myself as a nice person, but I have had it with grown men who think that I am an object.

I'm a hard worker. I go to my job on time, stay late, pick up shifts, and have pristine customer service skills. I wear clothes on the spectrum of form fitting to over-sized, but more on the over-sized side. I don't like wearing clothes that are too tight because I feel uncomfortable and immobile. That being said, I accept the fact that some people have wondering eyes and hit on me for whatever reason.

What I cannot ever accept is the disgusting things I have heard grown men say about me, to me, or tried to do to me. To name a few:

1. Man 1: "I would fuck the shit out of her if I wasn't married." Man 2: "I'm married and I still would."

2. "She seems bitchy, she probably needs a good dick."

3. "Here's my key, come to my room and I'll show you a good time."

4. "Come out with me and my boys, we'll show you a good time ;)."

5. Leaning in and moving his head from my belly to my neck saying, "MMM you smell good".

6. Physically trying to touch me; "My bad, my bad".

7. Me: "I'm not interested, I have a boyfriend who makes me very happy." Him: "Fuck you, you aren't that pretty anyway."

THESE ARE REAL THINGS SAID BY GROWN MEN WHO ARE IN THEIR MID 30'S-50'S PEOPLE! THIS IS ALL REAL.

All of what has ever been said to me is unsolicited. I never asked for any men to say anything sexual to me or about me. I dress modestly because I would rather go unnoticed than be someone's eye candy. I want you TO LEAVE ME ALONE. I don't care what your story is, and I don't care about the bullshit compliments you think may work on me.

There are only so many times that a person can take this. I usually just smile and laugh it off because these people don't mean anything to me. What makes me upset is that there are other women in this world that are not as strong as I am. They succumb to this pressure given by men who believe that they are gods. It's as if they believe they are "the best damn thing put on this planet" and women should fall at their feet.

NEWSFLASH: NOT ALL WOMEN WANT YOU

I wonder sometimes what these men would think if their daughter was me in those situations. What would they feel or say if someone said these things to their daughter? But obviously, that would never cross their mind in real life. All they are worried about is sex. Before this job I worked in food where men would cat call, touch, and try to solicit me. At my first job ever I had a man attempt to wait for me at my car. I was 15 years old. He was 45. I waited in the restaurant until 2AM until he finally left and never worked there again. The things I hear and witness are evidence enough that I should be guarded 100% of the time. The harsh reality of the world is that all women should keep their wits about them.

Not all men are this way and not every man I've had an encounter with has been this way. But that doesn't mean that because there are a few that happen that we should ignore this behavior.

YOU SHOULD NOT IGNORE THIS BEHAVIOR.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
