Well, if you’re as lucky as me, you lost power after Hurricane Hermine and had to clean out your entire fridge this weekend. Yep. I figured since the hurricane is such a hot topic, I could give a twist to it, and talk about all the unnecessary things I found in my fridge as I dumped its entire contents into eight garbage bags. You wouldn’t think there was room for so many unnecessary things when you’re sharing with four girls, but just look at what I found:
1. An empty bottle of Tabasco sauce
Empty? It was sitting there empty. Why didn’t I throw it away?
2. Mayonnaise that expired in 2015
Mmmmmm. Delish.
3. One random orange flavored spritzer
Not sure. We decided to keep it though.
4. Moldy lemon slices
Didn’t even know lemons got moldy, just thought they got squishy.
5. A mysterious white sauce in a small Tupperware all the way in the back of the fridge
Interesting.
6. Whole Foods leftover soup
Wondering still why I didn’t eat that but thought maybe I would one day?
7. Four hundred Chick-fil-A sauces, ketchup, and honey mustard
Explains itself.
8. Probably a pound of cheese
Parmesan, muenster (expired in April), goat cheese, pepper jack, cheese sticks, Babybels, you name it. Even some cheese I brought back from Switzerland literally three months ago.
9. Lots of half drank water bottles/Gatorade bottles/synergy drinks/juices
Just can’t seem to finish them.
10. Grape jelly I brought from my apartment freshman year
Yum. So expired.
11. About three or four more mystery Tupperware containers
Didn’t even open them. Just threw them out.
Writing this article genuinely made me uncomfortable. How could I, as such a germ freak, have let this happen? This is so gross. I feel like I've been living in a frat house. I need to go clean something.
