The University of Pittsburgh, founded in 1787, is a research university that has a lot to offer. The school is located in a lively city with plenty of off-campus and on-campus entertainment. Their acceptance rate is 53.1 percent with over 34,000 students enrolled. The students at this school set the bar relatively high with the average ACT score of 29 and the average SAT score of 649 in math and 625 in reading. As far as GPAs go, this school’s average is 3.97 (on a 4.0 scale), making it extremely competitive in that area. So we know that the students are smart, but what about the campus itself?

The University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning
This is the most iconic building on the Pittsburgh campus. The veryarchitecture of the tower holds a greater meaning that represents the educational journey that students at Pitt embark on. The parallel lines of the building that never meet “would imply that learning is unending”. The building houses the Historical Nationality Classrooms take the school back to its cultural roots.
Residence Halls

There are over 21 places to grab a bite to eat, all of which located right on campus. Those with a Pitt meal plan have all out access to the food services.
Peterson Events Center
The events center adds more life to the campus. Come here to see basketball games or live performances. Popular music artists come here too, and some of the upcoming artists are Panic! at the Disco, and Green Day.
Nightlife
