7 Things You Own If You Go To The University of Miami

Or in other words: UMIAMI essentials.

Miami is not an easy city and Florida is not an easy state. You don't just move here with your stuff from home and that's that. It takes many Target, Publix, and Dadeland Mall trips to adjust. So if you're coming to the University of Miami anytime soon, don't be surprised if you see a lot of these items.

1. An excessive amount of bathing suits

I'm guilty of this and trust me, it makes sense. We have pool parties every weekend plus a pool on campus. Just the five bathing suits you moved in with won't cut it.

2. A big umbrella

It rains all the time here. One minute it can be clear skies and the next minute it's pouring. I started the year bringing a small umbrella to class when I saw it was raining. Wrong. You need an umbrella constantly and it pours hard here. A small umbrella won't save your computer from water damage(trust me).

3. A Postmates account

Miami is one of the few cities that offers not only Postmates in general but a huge selection of restaurants and stores. Plus, I have yet to meet someone who likes the dining hall.

4. An Uber account

How else are you going to get to the Grove, Publix, brunch...anywhere?

5. Easy mac/cereal/microwaveable dinners

Again, the dining hall...

6. Multiple pairs of sunglasses

You'll need them every day and trust me you'll lose a pair or two at a frat pool party.

7. The best tailgate clothes

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
