Universal Studios Florida's newest nighttime show, Universal's Cinematic Celebration, invites you on a journey into the movies, with a showcase of lights, water, projection mapping, lasers, and fireworks to end your day at the theme park.
The twenty-minute show, created by Universal's Senior Director Entertainment Creative Development, Michael Aiello, brings the central lagoon to life with a presentation of scenes from the Jurassic Park franchise, Despicable Me, Trolls, The Fast & The Furious, Transformers, and of course, Harry Potter.
The collection of films in one large presentation is a tip of the hat to old Universal, before the rides and attractions. Essentially, particularly at Universal Hollywood, you would make a trip to Universal Studios in order to find out more about how movies are made, what is currently being made, and what else is coming soon.

The combination of new movies, in a recognition to old Universal, is presented to old fans of Universal through a musical display of over one hundred and twenty dancing fountains. Be sure to head to the Central Park area early in order to get a good view. You can access the brand new, purpose-built viewing area from Springfield: Home of The Simpsons and Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone area's of the park.
Be warned that if you do not see the show, yet are still in the park when it is going on, fireworks are shot off from the buildings in New York and San Francisco and are extremely loud!
As a follow up to Universal's previous nighttime show, Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories, this is a brilliant update. The Cinematic Spectacular highlighted the previous one hundred years of recognizable movies and ran from May 2012 to September 2017 - the show's ending being a result of damage to the show barges from Hurricane Irma.
After a week or so of technical rehearsals, pyro tests and a team member preview, Universal's Cinematic Celebration opened officially on July 15th 2018 and performs every night to guests, starting fifteen minutes before park closing.
Be sure to see this nighttime spectacular multiple times, due to so many elements to look at throughout the entire show. As well as taking in all the movies in their glory. It's another reason to stay late at Universal Studios Florida!
