Trump gave arguably the most important speech of his Presidency thus far at the United Nations earlier this week. The speech the President gave has come back with mixed reviews from the media. Of course, anyone on the right will tell you that the president's assertions to the United Nations were vigorous and fervent especially at a time when North Korea is possibly nuclear armed.
Now, on the other hand, many on the left called the speech very violent, aggressive, and assertive and not being as presidential as he could have been to the global community. Now it is interesting to note that before the president spoke the delegation from North Korea that was present in the room at the United Nations got up and left altogether. Now while this delegation may have left, Trump's speech was directed at the nation that has currently been in the media for threatening chaos and destruction.
Overall in New York, the United Nations is often met with much anticipation but also a disappointment. Many political pundits will tell you that while the leaders of the free world are standing at the podium speaking to technically one another often their messages are truly for the viewers in their home countries rather than the political leaders sitting in front of them.
This has been particularly true for a nation like Venezuela. While on the one hand, it may seem like quite a stride for the Global community to come together with its world leaders to discuss the most urgent of issues facing our world today, it is clear that politics often overreaches the goal or meaning behind these critical discussions.
One of the other major aspects that were completely understated at this year's United Nations was the fact that in recent weather occurrences, specifically the outburst of a very harsh hurricane season, many in the international community are worried about global climate change. However, of course, first up on the menu was North Korea and what the international community is going to do with what it considers a rogue nation.
