Spring break is what all college students look forward to during the spring semester. You start planning and looking forward to that one week. But we all know that being a broke college student isn't good for spring break because all you want to do is go on a huge spring break trip but maybe your bank won't let you. Here are some places that your bank might let you go on, bonus to that part, take some friends and they will be a lot more fun than spending a ton of money and being around a lot of people you don't know.
Top 6 places that are affordable for a college student
1. Hocking Hills, Ohio
This is a place full of adventure and only tenM hours away from Warrensburg. Take a road trip and have some fun with activities: hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and some off roading if you want too. Hocking Hills has some amazing sites to see, don't miss out!
2. Omaha, Nebraska
A little closer to home because it's only four hours from Warrensburg. This place has an amazing zoo, a beautiful garden, and some good shopping if you are in the mood. You could leave earlier and stay a little longer. Omaha may not be the top place that you want to go for spring break but your bank would appreciate you not having to spend so much money and still having a fun time getting out of Warrensburg with your best friends.
3. Bayfield, Wisconsin
Wisconsin has many sites to see, and Bayfield is one that should be on your list. This place has it all from ice caves, boat tours, picking apples, skiing, hiking, and even take some ghost tours in some fun haunted places. Bayfield is 11 hours, so pack up the car and take off, the road trip will be part of the fun.
4. Custer State Park, South Dakota
Custer State Park is only 11.5 hours from Warrensburg and it is a great place for sightseeing. Make sure to see Sylvan Lake, Needles Eye, Iron Mt. Road. You can even take a hot air balloon ride or a helicopter ride over the entire state park, or hike up to see a wonderful waterfall.
5. Mackinac Island, Michigan
This is the furthest one being 13 hours from Warrensburg, but the drive will be worth it. Mackinac Island has standup paddle boarding, a butterfly conservation, an art museum, a haunted theater, lighthouse tours, eagle point cave, and swimming around the island.
6. Smoky Mountains, Tennessee
I'm sure everyone has heard of the Smoky Mountains, and knows just how beautiful they are. Bonus! There are plenty of things to do while you are there: hiking to see the tops of the mountains or see some waterfalls like Baskin Creek Falls. You can shop in Gatlinburg, visit Dollywood. Or go ziplining, river tubing, visit Ripley's Aquarium, and don't forget to take a million pictures.
These 6 places are closer to home and will cost a lot less than other places like Chicago or Las Vegas or Mexico. You can make these trips just as much fun as those other places as long as you spend it with the right people.
