You Should Unfriend Or Disfollow People That Unfriend Or Disfollow You On Social Media

One of the reasons why people should not follow too many people on social media is that they will not be able to see everybody’s posts on that same day. Keep in mind that you will gain more followers and friends as time passes. You need to make some space and room for those that are coming in the future.

It happens to all of us. We lose a follower or friend on social media. Sometimes, it makes us sad. Do you know what to do in response? Instead of being sad about it, why not unfriend or disfollow the person?

One of the reasons why people should not follow too many people on social media is that they will not be able to see everybody’s posts on that same day. Keep in mind that you will gain more followers and friends as time passes. You need to make some space and room for those that are coming in the future.

Another reason is that it is hard to keep track of who unfriended or disfollowed you on social media. Some platforms like Instagram and Snapchat will not get rid of people that unfriended or disfollowed you. You have to find out and remove the person’s account from your profile by yourself. The more followers that you have, the longer and harder it gets to keep track. On the bright side, losing a follower or friend makes things easier for us.

The third reason is that we might be trespassing on the person that has unfriended or disfollowed us. When people send a friend or following request, it shows that they are comfortable with us looking into their profile. When we accept their request, we are fine with them looking at our profile. Sometimes, it is best to not see what others are posting.

The fourth reason is that people that have unfriended or disfollowed us are using us to give them more views or likes. Some people that use social media are narcissistic. We need to teach those people a lesson.

The fifth reason is that it will help improve your mental health and reduce your narcissism. It will teach us to appreciate those we have in our account. It will make you not wish to have too many friends or followers. It will also help you cope with moving on.

If you have to unfriend or disfollow someone on social media, then make them unfriend or disfollow you to make it fair. Some platforms like Instagram have the option where you can make people unfriend or disfollow you instead of waiting for them to do so.

The only exceptions to those that do not follow or befriend us are businesses, animal or pet lovers, and celebrities. Understandably, they need our attention more than we need their attention.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
