Understanding The Benefits of Being Understanding

There is no way, no precise direction, or train of thought that is perfect or whole.

I have always noticed this worlds intolerance for others and the differences we have which divide us so. This being said, I would just like to simply point out the benefits of being understanding.

We can all decide to be assholes and act as if our way is the right, and only way but you are ignorant if not blatantly stupid if you believe this. Remember this one simple fact: there is no way, no precise direction, or train of thought that is perfect or whole. Our differences define us and are there for us. We are all fractals of a whole and as such, we should understand each other or at least try.

One benefit of being understanding is that it opens you up to many new perspectives. With these perspectives, if you choose the right ones, life can be much more beautiful than you can imagine. I notice of late people tend to always focus on the negative perspectives and not the positive ones. Even sometimes I have issues with this. That is why I know in contrast which perspectives are more beneficial to you. Plus the more perspectives you are exposed to with an open mind the more understanding you will be to any and all perspectives even ones you don't necessarily agree with. This, in turn, makes you a more understanding person also a most agreeable person too all at the same time.

People always like someone who understands. Understanding has exposed me to some of the most beautiful people. Even if they don't see the beauty within themselves. I have made some long lasting meaningful connections with the people I now call friends some even family. When friends come into your life the right ones they can also enrich the quality of your life. Good people attract good people I have noticed even within what some would consider the wrong crowd. When I say good people, I speak of the nature of the individual.

Also with understanding, you can gain wisdom. With this, you can do many things. True wisdom comes along with true understanding. Through this wisdom, you can guide people in the right direction when they need. Whether that be friends, family, etc. Understanding opens the door for you to be a better person. If we could all just simply sit down, be honest and practice the most human thing within us: the ability to understand, and help our fellow brothers and sisters in this crazy thing we call life. I feel as if the world would be a better place.

Sincerely, Sean E. Landrock

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
