With Easter closely approaching, I thought that I would talk about the actual meaning and importance of the holiday. On Easter, we tend to focus our attention on the Easter bunny, Easter eggs hunts, and coloring eggs, but it can be easy to put the real celebration on the back burner. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and three days later rose from the grave.
Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His love fro us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died of run."
Romans 6:5, "For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his."
John 11:25-26, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."
Job 19:25, "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth."
1 Corinthians 6:14, "God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power."
Philippians 3:10, "...that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death..."
Easter is a time for us to celebrate God's love and sacrifice. Through Christ's death, God is able to forgive us and still remain just, and His resurrection guarantees that we, too, will be raised, if we are believers and obeyers of HIs Word. It is the cornerstone of Christianity and what we believe in.
There are people out there that find it hard to believe that God will love them. They don't have peace because they don't know the secret of peace. They think that they are too broken, damaged, and not good enough to deserve God's love. And while we don't deserve it, God gives it to us unconditionally. So invite a friend to your Easter service at church this year. It's the perfect opportunity to let them know how much God loves them.
