Understanding the commuter life

As college is just around the corner, I thought I should put out the life that commuters will have to get used to again for the start of school. No one likes waking up early to get to school in a certain time but hey, it's worth it. In the next 3 minutes, you will be an expert in understanding the commuter life.

First of all, we don't live on campus . *baby cries* but we do have friends who are so we pack up our extra clothes and sleeping bags haha.

Transportation: this is a major struggle especially for those who don't drive (like me). We gotta depend on traffic, bus and/or metro delays on a daily. When you hear 'single tracking', then you know you'll be waiting for hours for the next train ugh. You also get stuck during rush hour and are squished like a bee in between tons of people. Also, we gotta get up 2 hours earlier to make sure we make it safe to class.

Money: this is the most relatable thing to everyone even if you're a resident but commuters struggle. We have to pay for lunch if we woke up late to make any, pay for lunch, pay for gas or metro fare, spend on new apparel if you're a transfer and commuter. We get so excited when we see a quarter on the floor to put it in the piggy bank haha! You get the idea.

Clubs: personally, this one is hard because I'm a shy person and even if I want to branch and flap my wings to meet new people, I can't because of curfew and my rides. Clubs usual take place around 8 and for me, 8PM is late since i live an hour away.

Libraries: this is like our second home. We will literally stay until it closes to get work done especially if we don't have laptops or printers at home. We eat, sleep, even use the bathroom there so yeah, it's a home to us. Did I mention, sleep?!

Sleep: oh man! Waking up two hours before class starts is a drag even if you sleep early. It's really hard to catch up on sleep when your schedule is different everyday and you get home later than other days. Sleep is everything, we take naps on the metro and shuttle when we can. Sleep is our medicine but then again, it's hard haha!

Now that you're an expert on how it's like to be a commuter, I think you're ready to become one! Join the commuter club because we're awesome just like you even if we look like dead zombies on Mondays haha!

Does anybody know how to study

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
