At one point or another, every college student has finished watching all the great shows Netflix has to offer like “The Office,” “Friends,” and “Glee.” You probably had withdrawal symptoms after finishing a series and spent the next few hours scrolling through Netflix trying to find something else to watch. Unfortunately, your efforts proved fruitless, and you’re stuck watching the same show over and over again.
Netflix has a lot of shows, and sometimes it’s overwhelming trying to pick your next binge-worthy series to play in the background as you do your chemistry or Spanish homework. To ease your search on Netflix, I’ve compiled a list of underrated Netflix shows everyone needs to watch immediately.
So grab your popcorn, and take a look at these four underrated Netflix shows every college student needs to binge watch and procrastinate with:
1. "Mind Hunter"
The show is about a “professor” that comes up with a scheme to rob the mint of Spain. He recruits other criminals and trains them to enter the royal mint and hold the civilians hostage long enough so that they can print their unmarked money. The show is in Spanish, but Netflix provides subtitles. It’s fast, suspenseful, and somehow manages to make the show dramatic like a soap opera without all the cringy factors.
3. "Dark"
If you are a big fan of “Stranger Things,” I highly recommend that you watch “Dark.” “Dark” follows a group of kids who go missing once they enter a cave that’s been experimented on by the government. It has "Area 51" vibes and is much creepier than “Stranger Things.” The show really messes with your head and makes you question what the f**ck just happened. It’s a show that you’ll want to watch again and once you do, you’ll pick up small details that foreshadow later events that you missed previously.4. "Glitch"
"Glitch" is another pleasant surprise I stumbled upon on Netflix. It’s an Australian show that follows a group of people who come back to life—except they’re not zombies. They come back as normal humans and they must figure out how they died and why they’re back.
