Underrated, Affordable and Effective Makeup Brands Part 5

Today's article is based on another makeup brand. This makeup brand is called La Femme cosmetics. La Femme cosmetics is an extremely affordable makeup brand and a favorite brand of many makeup artists. So, I hope you enjoy this week's article on La Femme cosmetics.

La Femme Cosmetics

La Femme (the woman in French) is a professional makeup brand that was founded in 1950 in Southern California. La Femme is a brand that is suitable for everyday wear, it can be worn as theatrical stage makeup and for body painting. Their cosmetics are very inexpensive and of very high pigmentation. Their cosmetics are talc-free and made with mineral mica and oils. This makes La Femme cosmetics very pigmented, easy to blend, and when applied they do not release lots of falls out. La Femme Cosmetics offers a variety of eyeshadows both in loose and pressed forms, blushes, eyeliners in pencil and paste forms, concealers, and some makeup tools (sharpeners, palettes, etc).

La Femme is among the favorites of makeup artist brands because of its affordability, and also because the colors they formulate are meant to be worn on any skin tone. La Femme cosmetics are mostly known for highly pigmented blushes. There are about 32 different shades of blushes from LF. My favorite shades from the blushes are magenta, orange, redwood, golden rose, and raisin. The blushes are sold individually with or without a compact. They come in a 36 mm pan that has 3.5 grams of products, for a price as low as US $3.70. The blushes can be placed in a Z-palette and/or a La Femme 15-well palette. They can also be magnetized into any insert-free palette as well. Since LF blushes are made with minerals, there is no need to apply much of it to obtain a noticeable look. They blend effortlessly due to oils used during production, and a pan of LF blushes will last for a long time since they are usually larger than the ones offered by other brands.

La Femme eyeshadows are sold in the same way blushes are sold, individually with or without a compact (are magnetizable and can be put into any insert-free palette). In contrast with LF blushes, LF eyeshadows are not as highly pigmented. Nonetheless, the eyeshadows are buildable, and beginner friendly. At the same time, just like the blushes, the eyeshadows blend like silk and are very long lasting. There is no need even to apply a primer for easy application and durability. La Femme eyeshadows are twice the size of standard-size eyeshadows ( 36mm and 3.5 grams vs 15 mm 1.3 grams). A tip for applying LF eyeshadow is to dig your brush more into the shadow trying to grab a little more product to obtain a higher pigmented eye look. Also, the eyeshadows and blushes can be worn wet for an intensified effect and to be used as body paints. La Femme eyeshadows retail for US$3.50.

Also, La Femme eyeliners are very creamy and only retail for US$1.99 and can be safely worn on the waterline. They make very good quality eyeliner sharpener that is made of stainless steel and has a blade made in Germany. Their eyeliner sharpener can be used on different size of eyeliner pencils. A non-popular product by La Femme is their cake mascara. Their mascara is water activated and comes in pressed powder form. It actually can give you the blackest and most natural looking lashes without having to apply many coats of mascara.

La Femme cosmetics can be purchased at online retailers such as camerareadycosmetics.com, makeupmania.com and Ricky's NYC in-store and online. So, I hope that if you are researching a makeup brand that gives you good pigmentation, quantity for a low price, take a peek into La Femme cosmetics.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
