The day after Halloween everyone automatically jumps to Christmas. Not that I am against Christmas, but what about Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and people do not appreciate it as much as they should.

It makes me so mad when people skip over Thanksgiving. It’s a holiday where you get to spend it with your family and eat so much food! Who doesn’t look forward to that? It’s also a time to give thanks for everything, and everyone in your life.

Giving thanks is so important, not just on Thanksgiving, but all the time. The holidays aren’t a time to be receiving gifts or getting new things, it’s about appreciating what you have, and to spend time with your loved ones.

Being away at college has made me appreciate the holidays so much more. Having the opportunity to come home and see your family is just the best feeling ever. I mean, Thanksgiving should also just be everyone’s holiday, because food.

Thinking about all the food I am about to eat with my family is making me so happy. I think people just get too caught up in having to make all the food, and prepare for a huge meal. But, in the end, it is all worth it. You get to talk about old times, make jokes, and eat amazing food.

I love Thanksgiving so much, and I think people should love it just as much as I do. It is a great holiday full of yummy food and all the people that are important to your life.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
