Undefeated -- A Poem

Things scare me

No

Things terrify me

I admit that

But everyday I still smile

Sometimes it may be faked

Sometimes I may question if it is real

Yet still it is a smile

My past has not tore me down entirely

My future still holds hope

My past leaves me defeated

But my future keeps me undefeated

My past makes me feel like I am shooting with broken arrows

That I am constantly missing the target

But my future makes me know that I have Robin Hood skills

And that I will always hit the target

The past has shown me that

I never make check mate

But the future always tells me that

I cannot be beat

I was once beaten down

Bruises everywhere

Scars covering every inch

Scratches stinging me

But I am standing strong

Pushing past the pain

And putting my flag down

Making it to the top

My past leaves me feeling defeated

But my future makes me know I am and forever will be undefeated

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
