What It's Like Being An 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Fan

Being a fan of a Netflix series requires you to overcome some tough obstacles. The major obstacle you must face is the practice of patience, and the other is binge-watching.

Waiting a whole year for the next season to drop might be the slowest year of your life.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" came out on March 6, 2015. Most of the fans of the show watched all 13 episodes in a span of two weeks, then watched the season once a month until April 15, 2016 came and brought season two.

When you’re in a casual conversation with either a friend or a stranger, it is one of the best moments when you both come to the realization that you’re a huge fan of the show. You take the next step in the relationship by singing the theme song where one of you sings, “Unbreakable, they alive dammit,” while the other sings, “It’s a miracle.”

Being a huge fan of the show actually does change your life. For instance, when you go out to dinner and on the specials board for drinks it reads, “Pinot noir.” This makes a huge impact on you in the fact that you will not get Titus’ song (nor the music video) out of your head.

Binge watching becomes so evident when it comes to Kimmy Schmidt. Your friends will find that you cannot go out on Fridays or Saturdays anymore -- as you will be locked in your room, lights off, with some popcorn, until you finish the season. With this being said, you start to become the characters. There will be a time where you have to stop yourself to think about the fact that you just said, “Hashbrown,” instead of, “Hashtag,” or when you’re so late on the times of pop-culture, that you feel like Kimmy, or maybe you even refer to your worst class as “the bunker.”

With the season coming all at once, there are so many things to stress about:

Are Kimmy and Dong going to get back together?

Is Titus going to get his big break?

Is Xan really going to be moving away? (That would be “like” totally “not cool.”)

Is Mrs. Vorhees going to throw out every unused water bottle she takes out of the fridge?

I guess the fans will just have to wait and see.

Beginning in January, the fans started to count down until the next season came, and now that it has come, the bedroom lights have been turned off and the computer has been opened to the Netflix tab for about seven hours. In about 10 more hours, you will be staring at a blank screen wondering what you have done. Regret and sadness will appear with the fact that you just finished the second season. Even though it was great while it lasted, you now have to wait a whole year for the next one. So you better get used to watching the same episodes and laugh at the same jokes everyday; although that’s not quite hard to do.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
