"Unbreakable! They alive damn it!! It's a miracle!" I swear I sing this song all day and everyday; it's a little sad. For the past week I have been binge watching the Netflix Original Series "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and it's the best thing I've done so far this summer. I always heard that the show was funny but had no idea how funny it really was.

Here's a quick premise of the show:

Kimmy Schmidt along with three other women were abducted and held captive in a bunker for 15 years by a man claiming to be a reverend saying that the world was going to end. When finally freed, Kimmy decides to start her new life in New York City and see where life takes her. Along the way she makes strange friends (who have good hearts) and has even stranger misadventures. In a way, the show sounds like it could be super heavy and kind of disturbing. But the show does a fantastic job of not taking itself too seriously, which causes this show to be a slapstick comedy instead of depressing drama.

The entire cast is amazing. The main cast and the recurring cast are hilarious. I find myself trying to hold in laughter in the middle of the night so I don't wake up anybody. Ellie Kemper (Kimmy Schmidt) brings a stupid ignorance and innocence to Kimmy that makes you smile every time she does something, because you know she still has the mind set of a 14-year-old from 2000. Also, Kimmy is just a weird person. Tituss Burgess (Titus Andromedon) is the reason I can never breathe properly while watching this show. Portraying Kimmy's extremely selfish and fabulous roommate, Titus says all the things you shouldn't say to a kidnapped victim, and you crack up every time he does. Trust me, he breathes so much into this show it's ridiculous. Carol Kane (Lillian Kaushtupper) plays Kimmy and Titus's landlord who is as crazy as a nut. She's born and raised in NYC and is hell bent on saving the neighborhood from gentrification. Jane Krakowski (Jacqueline Voorhees) is just a hilarious person. If you've seen "30 Rock," then you know how funny she is. Her character is so weird. She's a rich Manhattan socialite who is extremely self-absorbed and completely shallow. What's even stranger is that she's actually a Native American who has completely white-washed herself in order to be white. The last character I'm going to talk about is the Reverend. He's played by Jon Hamm who I had no idea could be so funny! The Reverend is a stupid, stupid person, and I had no idea that the man from "Mad Men" could be so funny. So funny. I'm still in shock how funny he is on the show.

Instead of listening to me rave about how hilarious the show is, everybody needs to watch it. Do the Netflix free trial or borrow a friend's subscription if you don't have Netflix, because you definitely need to watch this show.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
