An Open Letter To My Unbiological Sister
Maura Keays

I was pretty content with having one sister that was already three years older than me, but something pretty amazing happened that most sibilings wouldn't be able to say it happened to them. Having my only sibiling going off to college I didn't know what to do with myself or thought her roomatte would get along with me, but I was wrong. Three years ago I was blessed to gain not only a friend but a second sister so I want to say thank you.

Thank you for telling me how it is

Growing up with an older sister I was always told when I did something wrong or overreacted. With you I get told the honest truth without anyone sugar coating it to spare my feelings. You seem to call me on my flaws, but help me fix them at the same time. Without you I wouldn't have anyone to tell me that my impulsive decisions were stupid.

Thank you for never leaving my side

No one told you that being roommates with my sister would include having another little sister. You're always there when I need someone the most and I know I can count on you for being there through my tears, laughs, stupid moments, and my most proudest moments. From the day we met three years ago to now being on the same campus as you, nothing has changed. I can still text or call you whenever I need someone and I know you'll try your best to support me through the day.

Thank you for understanding me

You're someone who knows me better then I know myself. You usually can tell if something is bothering me or if I'm not okay. Because of this you go out of your way to turn my day into a good one.

Thank you for loving me

You didn't have to call me your sister three years ago but now I find myself telling people that I have two older sisters that would do anything for me. I couldn't be anymore thankful for you being in my life and accepting me for me. You're truly someone special in my life and I get so excited telling people that I go to school with my two older sisters. Thank you for holding my hand through the rough times and laughing at me through my stupid moments. I don't know what I'd do without you in my life! Thank you for your never ending love and becoming my sister.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
