Being a girl is harder than it seems.

Being a girl can be fun, exciting, and enjoyable most of the time. On the other hand, sometimes it can be extremely difficult, annoying, and stressful. Girls have many things that can be the ultimate struggle every day. Here is a list of the constant struggles of being a girl in today's society.

1. Shaving your legs

This can take forever to do and somehow you always end up cutting yourself while doing it. Razors are also really expensive and depending on how your hair grows, you could need a new one every couple weeks!

2. We can't just get ready in 5 minutes

Girls have a morning routine that is absolutely impossible to finish in less than an hour. We have to shower, do our hair, do our makeup and have a dance party while getting ready. It's a long process that can't be changed or it'll ruin the whole day.

3. Having to get your eyebrows done

Beauty is pain, but getting your eyebrows done is one of the most painful things in being a girl. And it costs money for someone to rip hair off your face! But then after, your brows are on fleek!

4. Walking into Sephora with all your money and coming out broke

Once you walk in, your money is going to be gone. Everything you see you want and you can get carried away.

5. The time of the month

Mother nature always has a way of ruining an important day when you have plans. Cue the chocolate, heating pads, and binge watching Netflix.

6. Waiting in line for the bathroom

Girls take forever to go to the bathroom, when they're gossiping the whole time! To make it worse, there's never a line for the men's bathroom.

7. Wearing high heels

At first they're fine, but 2 hours in and your feet feel like they'e gonna fall off. Plus sometimes you completely forget how to walk or stand up in them.

8. When your only hair tie snaps

For some reason this only happens on the bad hair days or the days you need to put your hair up.

9. When your jewelry gets tangled

The one necklace you want to wear is all tangled with 10 other bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. These can take hours to untangle.

10. Bad Haircuts

When you ask, "Can I just have a trim?" and then you look in the mirror and your hair stylist cut a lot more than what you anticipated.

11. When your nail chips right after you get them done

You sit in the nail salon for so long and then your expensive manicure, chips! It's such a struggle and waste of money!

12. Putting on eyeliner.

You do one eye perfectly and then as soon as you get to the second one, you miss a spot, try to fill it in, and then your whole eye turns black

13. Having a closet full of clothes, but having nothing to wear.

This is honestly such a struggle. You never know what to wear but don't want to wear any of your clothes.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
