The month of October has started, which means a few different things: One, it is for sure fall, and two, Halloween is in roughly 30 days. October is meant for keeping warm and wearing sweaters. Do you know what each of these different things have in common? They all are perfect for movie night! I have compiled a list of movies I think goes great with fall and Halloween. There is a list of six, three for fall and three for Halloween. It's about to be spooktacular! (See what I did there?)

"When Harry Met Sally"

Starting off our fall movies is a great love classic. When Harry Met Sally is funny, yet soulful. It is a great movie to watch and one of the best parts? It takes place during the fall. Who doesn't love a romantic movie, with a great setting?

"Love Story"

One of my favorite movies of all times, is the movie "Love Story". Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal do a phenomenal job acting. The costuming is so chic and the setting is beautiful. It takes place mostly during the fall/winter. My mom showed me this movie several years ago and it has yet to get old. I want to warn you, though, it is a tear-jerker, so be prepared. But I promise, it is worth the waterworks!

"Stepmom"

When I thought of this article idea and was thinking about fall movies, the first one to come to my mind was "Stepmom". The reason being, the scenic views in the movie are so great. Fall is shown a lot, picture upstate New York, with all of the crisp, brown leaves. It is so amazing. Again, like "Love Story", it is a tear-jerker. However, the storyline is special and it is a movie worth seeing.

"Halloweentown"

Moving into our Halloween movies, I have to start with my favorite one, "Halloweentown". It is a Disney Channel movie from the prime days of 1998. It is a feel good kind of movie that will leave you wanting to go trick-or-treating right after. It is a series, so there are multiple movies following the first one, but all of them are great!

"Hocus Pocus"

Sticking with the Disney movie theme, "Hocus Pocus" is another great Halloween movie. With Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker starring in it, you know it is going to be a great one. The thing about "Hocus Pocus" is it is a little creepy, but not scary, so it is a great option for scardy cats like me!

"The Nightmare Before Christmas"

The last movie on the list and the third Halloween one is "The Nightmare Before Christmas". This is a Halloween classic. It is created by Tim Burton, which means it has an interesting and creative plot line, setting, and characters. It is the whole package for a Halloween inspired movie!

I hope you enjoyed the list and watch one or all of these movies. They really are a great set and go perfectly with the month of October. Let me know if you have seen or watch any of these movies and have a fabulous month of October!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
