Tis the season for the perfect Christmas night in spent snuggled up with your favorite hot drink and the perfect movies. Everyone has their own preferences, but here are some of the old and new classics and all-around great Christmas movies for the holiday season.

1. Dr. Suess' How The Grinch Stole Christmas

The Jim Carey version is amazing too, but this 30-minute cartoon was a staple of childhood that told one of the sweetest and most classic Christmas stories there is.

2. Miracle on 34th Street

As one of the best Christmas classics, this film is one that pulls on your heartstrings and is an absolute must.

3. Eloise at Christmastime

I lost track of how many times I watched this last year, but this adorable Disney movie is largely underrated for how good it is. Even if you’re not obsessed like I am, it’s something everyone should see at least once.

4. It’s a Wonderful Life

You’ll have to carve out a good amount of time for this one, but it’s worth it.

5. The 12 Dogs of Christmas

One of the sweetest and most underrated films; one I watch multiple times every year.

6. Snow

This one isn't too well known, but is sweet, light and unique.

7. Just Friends

This may not be classified as a Christmas movie, but it takes place at Christmastime, so I count it. It's absolutely hilarious and features Ryan Reynolds. Need I say more?

8. Home Alone

If you feel like you have the ambition for watching all of them, by all means go for it, but only the first is required.

9. Elf

The ultimate Christmas, laughing, reference and really just life movie.

10. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

This is easily one of the best movies in general to watch with a good group of people; it's absolutely hilarious and unforgettable.

11. A Charlie Brown Christmas

While possible every Charlie Brown holiday movie is necessary, this is easily one of the most iconic.

12. The Santa Clause

I truly believe that these will never get old, and even if you’re not the biggest fan of the third like some, the first and second should be required.

13. The Polar Express

This newer Christmas classic has such a sweet and unique story and serves as a great reminder of the magic of Christmas.

14. The 12 Dates of Christmas

This absolute chick flick is also a great one to watch with a good group of people, and will probably be spent relating to each other the whole time.

15. Christmas with the Kranks

This is the absolute perfect family film to outline the disfunction of the holidays.

16. A Christmas Story

Is there still someone in the world that hasn't seen this at Christmastime?

17. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Really, just an adorable Christmas classic.

18. Four Christmases

Vince Vaughn and Reece Witherspoon truly outline the reality of how Christmas isn't always what it appears to be on the Christmas card.

As December quickly approaches, this list should keep you pretty occupied in between shopping, decorating and eating great food. If you're looking for something new, modern and original, there's no shame in turning on the Hallmark channel at any given point of the day, but these classics are a great and easy way to keep tradition every Christmas season.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
