I love two things: road trips and John Mayer, so why not talk about them both? In my opinion, no road trip is complete without songs by John Mayer. Whether it's his well-known hits or his lesser-known songs, John Mayer's voice, lyrics, and music embody the essence of a road trip. Here is two hours and three minutes worth of John Mayer songs for a road trip!

1. "Queen of California" (Born and Raised)

This song has to be first because it's perfect when you're, "goin' out west with your headphones on".

2. "Call Me The Breeze" (Paradise Valley)

3. "Wildfire" (Paradise Valley)

4. "Helpless" (The Search for Everything)

5. "Why Georgia" (Room for Squares)

The setting of this song is on the road so it's a great choice.

6. "New Deep" (Heavier Things)

7. "Rosie" (The Search for Everything)

8. "Love on the Weekend" (The Search for Everything)

9. "Half of My Heart" (Battle Studies)

This may not be a popular opinion, but I love this song for road trips because of the fun bass line and upbeat but clean drum sounds.

10. "Something Like Olivia" (Born and Raised)

11. "On The Way Home" (Paradise Valley)

12. "No Such Thing" (Room for Squares)

13. "Bold As Love" (Continuum)

14. "Waiting On The World To Change" (Continuum)

15. "In Your Atmosphere" (Where the Light Is)

One of my all-time favorites by John Mayer, it's perfect to kind of bring you down to earth after "Waiting on the World To Change".

16. "Still Feel Like Your Man" (The Search for Everything)

17. "Heartbreak Warfare" (Battle Studies)

18. "Perfectly Lonely" (Battle Studies)

19. "Roll It On Home" (The Search for Everything)

20. "Stop This Train" (Continuum)

21. "Walt Grace's Submarine Test, January 1967" (Born and Raised)

Something about this song and a long open road is so philosophical.

22. "Edge of Desire" (Battle Studies)

23. "Say" (Say-Single)

24. "Back To You" (Room for Squares)

25. "Your Body Is a Wonderland" (Room for Squares)

26. "War Of My Life" (Battle Studies)

27. "Love Song for No One" (Room for Squares)

28. "Moving On and Getting Over" (The Search for Everything)

29. "The Age of Worry" (Born and Raised)

Belting out "worry why should I care" at the top of your lungs while driving is such a satisfying feeling, trust me.

30. "I Will Be Found" (Paradise Valley)

This song is at the end because I love the message of this while you arrive at your destination, ultimately being "found" per say.

I decided to make a playlist with all these songs in it, so if you have Apple Music then feel free to check it out on your next road trip or you can recreate the same playlist in your own music library! Some other good things to listen to by John Mayer would be his entire Born and Raised album and Paradise Valley album; both are great road trip albums.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
