Sometimes you get into those moods where you need to blast some music and dance around to sassy girl power music with your girls. The next time you’re in that mood, cue up this playlist!

1. "Bad Reputation"- Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

When you feel like being a girl comes with too many criteria of what you have to do to be perfect, give these lyrics a listen and stop giving a damn.

2. "Me Too"- Meghan Trainor

You can’t be too obsessed with yourself, right?

3. "Pretty Hurts"- Beyonce

From "Single Ladies" to "Who Run The World" to "Diva", Bey certainly has a few girl power anthems, but none that describe the struggle to break the beauty obsession gripping women today like "Pretty Hurts" does.

4. "Man! I Feel Like A Woman"- Shania Twain

There’s no better song to hear when you want to celebrate being a woman...and if you need another excuse to have a night of fun for no reason, here it is.

5. "Love Myself"- Hailee Steinfeld

Despite the multiple meanings of this song, it’s about self love...in many ways.

6. "Confident"- Demi Lovato

In case the title doesn’t say it all, Demi’s backstory is about getting through years of self-doubt to love herself and eventually make a song that’s all about--well, what else? Confidence.

7. "Hurricane"- Halsey

All of Halsey’s music is about being a strong woman, but this song in particular is great.

8. "Pretty Girls"- Maggie Lindemann (Cheat Codes X Cade Remix)

She’s telling the world there’s more to her than her looks, and it’s a great dancing song, so what could be better?

9. "Most Girls"- Hailee Steinfeld

If you want to know why this song is great, check out this article I wrote on it.

10. "BO$$"- Fifth Harmony

Women can be as cute as Fifth Harmony AND work for their own money. Independent women, it’s time to dance.

11. "Masterpiece"- Jessie J

With all of these songs by strong women, it’s easy to think you need to be perfect right now. Here’s one to remind you it’s okay to still be working on yourself.

12. "Fight Song"- Rachel Platten

Girls can make incredible comebacks, and this song’s to that.

13. "Hair"- Lady Gaga

Any woman who’s ever been told they care too much about their hair will feel justified when they listen to this song. Guys just can’t understand.

14. "Sit Still, Look Pretty"- Daya

Women are here for way more than dressing cute and being eye candy, and Daya (and your friends, obviously) are ready to sing that to the world.

15. "Rock N' Roll"- Avril Lavigne

Refreshingly, this is a song that celebrates breaking the mold and being a girl who does whatever she wants, BUT in the song she is still with a guy--showing it’s just as okay to celebrate girl power in a relationship as it is outside of one.

16. "America’s Sweetheart"- Elle King

This song uses the stereotype of America’s Sweetheart to joke about how she will never be one, and how girls don’t need to aspire to be either.

17. "Try"- Colbie Caillat

Trying too hard is every middle schooler’s problem, and every grown woman's duty to sing away.

18. "Just A Girl"- No Doubt

For anyone feeling underestimated.

19. "Who Says"- Selena Gomez

A song about letting go of anyone who has ever told you you can’t do something, and doing it anyway.

20. "Not Your Way"- Misterwives

If you've ever been annoyed at women's current issues being swept under the rug because we should "look around and appreciate how far we've come", this song is for you.

21. "Wings"- Little Mix

Little Mix is a girl group full of girl power. All of their songs are empowering, but this one is especially good.

22. "You Don't Own Me"- Grace ft. G-Easy

For anyone who's ever had a partner try to make you "theirs" before you were your own, this is the song to blast.

23. "Who You Are"- Jessie J

Another song about giving up beauty ideals and deciding you look good the way you are, because you can never have enough.

24. "Woman"- Kesha

If you don't like cursing, skip this song. Otherwise, put it on twice.

25. "Who Said"- Hannah Montana

There’s just no way a good girl’s night can end in anything but a Hannah Montana throwback, it’s true.

Add and drop songs as you please, but make sure you have a night full of girl power and sass!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
