To me, Christmas movies are a staple piece of the holiday season. Granted, I have seen every Christmas movie a thousand times, but I still like being able to watch the same movies over and over. I've noticed that it puts me in the Christmas spirit more than anything else does. Here my top 11 holiday movies to put you in the Christmas spirit this year.

1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Personally, I am a sucker for the real life version of The Grinch. Not only can we relate to the grinch (sometimes), but the movie shows us that Christmas is much more about love and kindness than hate.

2. Elf

Elf is the funniest Christmas movie I think I have ever seen. It makes me laugh ever single time I watch it. My friends and I continue to quote the movie very frequently.

3. The Santa Clause movies

Tim Allen is probably the best Santa Clause ever. I watch every single Santa Clause movie in a row the week before Christmas.

4. Christmas with the Kranks

Although Tim Allen is not Santa in this movie, he is hilarious. It shows us that one simply does not skip Christmas.

5. Home Alone movies

We grew up with the Home Alone movies since we were children. They will always be a timeless classic and therefore, is a perfect addition to this year's Christmas movie list.

6. A Christmas Carol

This can be a very powerful movie to watch. The beginning of the movie can be a little somber, however, it leaves you in the Christmas spirit.

7. Frosty The Snowman

Many people think this movie is strictly for children, but it is also for adults. Whenever I watch this movie, it puts me in a happy mood.

8. Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer

Probably the most popular of every Christmas movie. There are thousands of stories based off of this movie. It is a must see this Christmas!

9. The Christmas Story

This classic movie will be sure to make you laugh this holiday season! It continues to make me laugh every time I watch it.

10. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

This movie is probably the perfect depiction of Christmas decorating. It is a struggle, but once it's done, it's magnificent. This movie is a big hit in my family.

11. The Polar Express

Last, but not least! The Polar Express movie always gets my family and me in the Christmas mood. We have to watch this every single year.

These are my favorite movies to watch every single year. I hope you enjoy my favorite Christmas movies as much as I do. Have a very Merry Christmas!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
