You roll up into class “fashionably" late, or so you thought. Open the door as the teacher is in the middle of a lecture, and all eyes are now on you. AWKWARD. Or better yet, you introduce yourself to someone that you apparently already met downtown but were too “clouded of mind" to remember. AWKWARD. In this day and age, being awkward is synonymous with being ill-fit for society. If we had a superpower, it would probably be making our opponents feel so uncomfortable that they don't even know how to react. Anyways, you get the picture. As awkward people (AND people that think that they are cool and don't even realize how awkward they truly are), here are 10 unapologetic moments and struggles that we suffer through regularly. They just happen too often that apology becomes too much of a hassle.
1. We have a knack for texting things that some people are confused by.
2. We make this face at least three times each day.
3. We don't do coordination.
4. We don't even bother flirting with someone because we know that it will end tragically.
5. Dancing is an absolute no-no. Like, we do the world a favor by awkwardly standing in a corner.
6. At times, we can be too over-the-top when it comes to excitement.
7. We haven't quite mastered the art of taking of selfies yet.
8. We wave to people who don't wave back because we forgot that we only know them through FB stalking.
9. Our attempts at being funny fail…A LOT. More failures than success.
10. Despite all of this, we have learned to laugh at ourselves. At times you might catch awkward people randomly laughing.
So yeah, sorry not sorry. When life gives us lemon, we make strange, sour lemon juice instead of the lemonade that everyone enjoys. We make life too uncomfortable at times, but if you're indeed awkward, OWN IT. Sure you have your flaws, but no one is perfect. Life is more interesting with awkward people: you never know what to expect. Keep on being you and learn to accept yourself for who you truly and awkwardly are.
