UCF Dorms Ranked From Best To Worst

1. Towers

Located at one of the best locations on campus, Towers at Knights Plaza tops the list. Directly next to the CFE Arena and the Bright House Networks Stadium, Towers residents are right next door to all concerts, athletic events, and great study spaces. Tailgating is also close by at Memory Mall.

The RWC @ Knights Plaza is only a small walk away from Towers residents. They are also surrounded by restaurants such as Kyoto, Jimmy Johns, and coming soon, The Pop Parlour. Towers residents also have exclusive resident-only discounts at retailers.

These apartments feature full kitchens, private bedrooms, and a private parking garage. Also, laundry rooms are on each floor. Towers are for first-year students as well as upperclassman and graduate students.

2. NorthView

NorthView is UCF's newest apartment community just north of the Bright House Networks Stadium and includes many great amenities such as a resort-style pool, fitness center, game room, sand volleyball court and much more. There is also a secured parking garage and a shuttle service. There are eight floorplan options including ample conveniences. The best part is that these apartments may seem "off campus" but can be paid with student financial aid each semester.

3. Neptune

Located off of Libra Drive, Neptune features suite-style housing with private bedrooms. Each floor has its own laundry room, community living room, study space and kitchen. Neptune Community features large community study spaces, a classroom and multipurpose space for programs and events. Although it is far from classes, it is next to the Intramural Fields, the Rec and Wellness Center, as well as the Leisure Pool.

4. Lake Claire

If you love the outdoors, Lake Claire is the ideal location for you. Located next to the Lake Claire Recreation Center, there are many fun, outdoor options for all UCF students to enjoy. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards are free to rent at Lake Claire. There are also picnic tables, sand volleyball courts and a large open field where students typically play soccer or ultimate frisbee on.

The actual apartments are fifteen buildings arranged in three courtyards. Rooms are private for each resident and the community has a central office building which includes the lounge, mail center, vending, and laundry.

5. Apollo

If you tend to wake up five minutes before class, this is your best option on campus that is relatively cheap. With the most central location on campus, Apollo is made up of four two-story buildings with suite-style floor plans. Each includes a shared bathroom and an unfurnished living space which first-year students can get creative with. Each of the four residence halls includes a community lounge area, laundry room, and vending machines. A benefit is its location, but a downside is that four or five residents occupy a two or three bedroom suite. If you don't get along with your roommates, there's not much space to be away from them.

6. Hercules & Nike

These communities, although they have different names, are identical. Located right behind the Rec and Wellness Center, Leisure Pool, and Intramural Fields, it is great for people who love are all about being #fit! The residence halls are for first-year students, but there are also apartment buildings for upper-class students. Apartments feature four private bedrooms with two shared bedrooms while the residence halls are shared bedrooms. They are far from classes but offer a good location if you hit the gym often.

7. Libra

Located next to the Health Center, '63 South, and across the street from the Rec and Wellness Center, Libra is also a close location on campus to most classes. It is only for first-year students and there are two styles, L-Shaped and Pod-Style suites. Each suite has a central "pod" area including couches, tables and chairs for the floor residents to gather in. Both styles are two-bedroom suites with a shared bathroom between each suite.

There is a Community Center with a common kitchen, but it must be shared amongst all Libra residents which can become a hassle as well as the laundry room which is far from some Libra resident halls. The parking garage is a bit far from Libra and is better for resident halls Neptune, Nike and Hercules.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
