The UFC welterweight champion Tyron "The Chosen One" Woodley has been very vocal the last few months when it comes to the person who will more than likely be his next opponent Colby "Choas" Covington. While it has been a fight in the making for quite some time now, the UFC welterweight Champ Tyron Woodley is ready to make the fight happen at UFC 233 on January 26th as this is a Tyron Woodley we have not seen before he is so eager to get into the octagon with Colby. The champion is definitely angry, and we are seeing a side of Tyron that has not been presented to us yet. It will be beyond interesting to see what a press conference would be like with these two top contenders in the same room with each other.
Colby Covington has been calling out and poking at Tyron for the long, long time now, and he has been doing it in a way that is getting under the champion's skin like no other. Tyron has expressed on numerous occasions how he wants to retire Colby by beating him so bad he has no choice but to retire. He also has said how he wants to hurt Colby Covington in a way that he cannot explain. We have seen how "The Chosen One" has dominated his opponents as he has defended his championship 4 times already.
The former Interim-Welterweight Champion Colby Covington has also continued to put on spectacular performances as he has dominated all of his opponents on his climb through the welterweight division to the title. "Choas" Covington is on a 6 fight win streak with mix martial arts record of 14 wins and 1 loss. It was said that the fight was supposed to happen at UFC 228, but Covington underwent surgery for his sinuses and would not be ready for the fight, so Darren Till got the call.
The last time Colby Covington was in action was at UFC 225 when he took on the former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos for the Interim-Welterweight Championship. Colby Covington won that fight by unanimous decision to become to the interim-title holder. Colby put on a tremendous amount of pressure when he faced Dos Anjos as he does with most of his opponents to secure the victory with his wrestling and striking. Rafael seemed frustrated throughout the bout which could have stemmed from the trash talk that Colby was hurling in his direction but will that work the UFC Champ Tyron Woodley?
"The Chosen One" recently defended his title against one of the toughest fighters in the welterweight division the #2 ranked Darren Till. It was an incredible performance as Tyron Woodley looked better than ever when he dropped Till with a mean hook then finished him on the ground with a d'arce choke. Unfortunately for the welterweight champ, he had broken his hand with the strike he dropped Till with and underwent surgery but has been active and ready to start a camp for his upcoming fight.
