Despite the fact that colleges hold thousands of people that come from many diverse backgrounds you always somehow run into these people on a college campus:

Mr. Congeniality

You try to hate him, you really do but you just can't. He the one giving out high fives to random strangers and you've never heard a single negative comment muttered about him. You have never seen him not happy and smiley.

The Party Animal

You don't know how they do it but they manage to go out five times a week. Their motto is that it's 5 o'clock somewhere and they are at every party you walk into. Usually dancing on a table or seen stumbling around.

The Slacker

Commonly found sleeping in till 1. Went into college with the motto that C's get degrees. They're the one constantly hitting you up for the notes from the class they didn't go to.

The Professor That Tries to Be Your Friend

"Feel free to text me, I won't be doing anything". That kind of professor that always asks what everyone did over the weekend. This professor is the person that "jokily" asks where all the parties are for the upcoming weekend.

The Couple That's Already Married

You love them to death and they are total goals but they high key make you realize how single and alone you are. They've been together forever and are never seen one without the other.

The Guy Who Peaked In High School

Can be spotted still wearing his Letterman jacket and high school tee shirt and sweatshirts. Most likely talking about all the girls he got with in high school and all the parties he went too.

The Totally Optimistic Girl

That girl is always seen smiling and content with life. She's super welcoming and has the cutest Snapchats and her Instagram is prime. Everyone is low-key obsessed with her.

The Guy Desperately Trying to Get Laid

Usually found at a party, the type of guy to say "wheres my hug". Can be seen trying to flirt with drunk girls and makes a point to talk as many girls as possible.

The Gym Rat

Always in the gym or otherwise talking about going to the gym. Can be seen with a protein shake in hand and decked head to toe in athletic attire.

The Overachiever

Usually found in the library or with a book in hand. The future doctors and lawyers of the university. Always stops to talk to the professor on the way out of class and finishes the assignments the day they are assigned.

The Mom

Always seen carrying a huge purse full of snacks, kleenex and anything one could ever need. The one you always go to for deep talks and advice. Volunteers to be DD and gives great hugs.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
