If you have ever sat in a lecture hall, you know that sometimes you will sit next to some very interesting people. Here are some that many of you may come across in your college careers.

1. The frat star

Everyone has sat next to one boy or another who is wearing a vineyard vines shirt, backward hat, and only comes to class carrying a pencil and a giant water bottle. These are the guys that always ask what the professor is saying and if they can copy off of you during the tests. You are better than that!

2. The gamer

This is the kid that is hardcore gaming during class. Whether it be on their phone or their laptop, they are very easily spotted by the aggressive tapping of the screen and the headphones hidden in their hoodies.

3. The Soundcloud rapper

What would a college lecture be without someone trying to become a famous rapper? This kid rolls up to class 20 minutes late with beats headphones on and tries to promote himself to the professor. "Go check out @swaggmoney7 on SoundCloud for a good time." Never sit next to this kid if you can avoid it or else you will get brought into downloading their entire mixtape.

4. The opinionated one

This person is the one who always has their hand raised and ready to share. Now, this could work for or against you, because if this student likes to argue with the professor, it will draw attention to you and you could no longer hide behind the computer screen anymore. That, is the end for ya.

5. The aggressive laptop texter

I know we are all guilty of this, but sometimes it just is past the point of being ok. There is nothing worse than the person next to you typing away to their bff about what some guy did at the party last night in the middle of a lecture. Some of us actually want to pay attention people! Do it on your phone under the desk like everyone else!

6. The underprepared one

Ah, those youths. The ones who always ask to borrow a pencil. never do their homework, and have never once taken notes. We are all youths. This is us.

7. Finally, there is the best friend

If you are lucky enough to have a class with one of your best friends, take advantage of that! College is such a crazy time that sometimes going to class may be the only time you get to hang out, so make the most of it together.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
