8 Types of People Who Surfaced During The Election

Since the Presidential election is in full swing with Voting Day just weeks away, let's just reflect on the last year and the type of people we've seen come out of the wood work to support their respective candidates. We started off with numerous candidates during the primary. We have had a lot of interesting candidates this past year.

Now, we just have Clinton and Trump. This election is definitely one that will be remembered for years to come. From Hillary tweeting Donald Trump: "Delete Your Account" to the "Make America Great Again" slogan from the Donald Trump campaign, it's been hectic and interesting. Besides the candidates bantering and fighting like children at times, the supporters who have come running from the wood work to voice their concerns. Some people surprised you and some people did not.

1. The Die Hard Party Supporter

These are those die hard GOP/Democrat supporters who have not changed their political views since 'nam. No matter who the candidate is or whatever the party's platform is, they will ALWAYS vote for their respective parties. You will see these people on facebook, typically between the ages of 65 - 80 but sometimes you'll be surprised and find a 35 year old who has voted the same party since they were born. These type of people are very quiet when voicing their opinion. They just share every political statement, no matter the source (yes, sometimes The Onion), from different Facebook groups and pages. If you take to Twitter, some of these people just incessantly retweet politicians from their respective party. Sometimes, it could be simply "@realDonaldJTrump: I thoroughly enjoy salt on my potatos," damn it, they will make their political support be known.

2. The Very Confused College Student

This is a common person to see during any election, ever. Sadly, this is the next generation going through the motions of adulthood. These people typically read one headline about the candidates and just have no clue what is going on. They do not really look into the articles because they were too busy creeping on their exes or seeing what new video JennaMarbles posted (been there, very guilty). You can point these people out in a crowd because they just complain about all of the fighting that takes place on social media.

3. The Politically Correct Person

Any other year, these people drive you insane. From correcting your grammar on twitter to making sure you had your facts correct about some world event that you want to rant about on Facebook, these people ARE THE SILVER LINING of political fights on social media. You can always count on this person to keep people in line with their facts they argue and what not. They never post something to their personal profiles BUT you can find them being the most liked comment on a Facebook post or the most retweeted on Twitter when trying to criticize a politician's tweet. However, the minute the election is over, you want to unfriend/block them like ASAP Rocky because they will return to their old ways of telling you how to properly use a semicolon.

4. The Most Incorrect Person, EVER

Sometimes, you think these people do not have a thought process. These people are more common than the confused college students. They tend to share any article on Facebook that they see. The most popular articles they share are usually from The Onion, and they will fight with you until the end of the day that the story about Donald Trump having an affair with Rush Limbaugh is completely accurate. When one person questions their source of information on social media, then they all flock to the post to defend their false information. I like to call these people the Patrick Stars of politics. They believe anything they see OR they read headlines from different sources and share the article without reading it. This is one of the most annoying people that come out of the wood work to just throw a monkey wrench in everyone's daily dose of social media creeping.

5. Sarah Palin

Well, this the one woman who has fueled Saturday Night Live's ratings since the 2008 election and the nightmare the Republicans cannot escape. Sarah Palin has a made a great career for herself by posting any thought that comes to her mind on Facebook. She starts to let her mouth go like a runaway train. That train slowly comes to a halt OR derails when Tina Fey writes another skit about her for SNL. Since 2008, Mrs. Palin has made it quite clear that she thinks President Obama cannot do his job. She makes it quite clear she is Team Trump. Even quite recently when she called Donald Trump's "locker room talk" her kind of "locker room talk." Fun Fact: Sarah Palin wanted to be on Trump's Cabinet. She wanted to be the Secretary of Energy so she could get rid of it. She also would like to give states more control over oil and gas development within their borders. However, Mrs. Palin was sadly mistaken about which position she wanted. The Department of the Interior handles all of the things that Mrs. Palin said she would do. The Department of Energy is in charge of the country's nuclear weapons program. So, if you are afraid of Donald Trump being near that red button, this woman would be just as close. Let that resonate with you.

6. The Anti-LGBT Rights Person

This is that one person who clearly cares way too much about what other people are doing. They do not speak up about any economic issue that circulates around the election, however, once anything that pertains to social issues surfaces they immediately change the topic of conversation to LGBT issues. They will post on any politically driven Facebook status to remind everyone how they are stuck in the early 2000s. Even though most people have just stopped talking about same-sex marriage, they make sure they keep the debate alive. They will remind you how much they think Kaitlyn Jenner should lose her olympic medals for being an "abomination to society" and that they find the sex scenes involving Laura Prepon in Orange Is The New Black is the best thing they've ever seen. Yeah, they like the lesbian-jail bait loving on Netflix.

7. The Guy Offended By Literally Everything

I am about 99.9 percent this person lives to find things to be offended about. This person does not really specify what party they align with but they remind you how every single topic that pertains to the election offends them. You can spot them from afar because they are probably blaming all of their problems on the government and they are ALWAYS the victim. They get offended by people who say Donald Trump is sexist for his "locker room talk" but then get their panties in a bunch when the republicans say Hillary Clinton should be in jail for the email issue. These are the people who are the reason for the "unfollow" feature on Facebook.

8. Ted Cruz

Oh poor, Ted. Whether you're actually talking about the Senator from Texas or not, we all know one person who acts like he does. But in this election, poor Ted. Ted Cruz surfaced into the national limelight as a possible nominee for the GOP ticket. We all know how that ended. Ted Cruz has a face that just says "I'm probably about to cry," because quite frankly that is how his campaign went. Ted Cruz represents a group of people who start off as the class favorite but then they quickly screw up the game by spiraling into social suicide by giving a speech about abortion that doesn't click with anyone. When the class bully insults Ted's girl, then he does all he can to fight back when in reality it just seems like he is hiding from confrontation and crying in a corner. Then, when the class bully runs for fraternity president in college, Ted will stand up during chapter to say how great the fraternity is while totally blowing off the class bully and not endorsing him as president. This is because in Ted's world, he is president and the class bully got kicked to the curb ages ago. Then, months later Ted will finally endorse the class bully, hoping it would go under the radar but unfortunately it was noticed.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
