When Spring break rolls around, college students everywhere let out a giant breath. They all get a break before they have to come back and hit the books even harder. Since getting back I have heard each of these different thoughts at least once.
1. I give up
When it feels like all you see are books and quizzes it can feel really easy to just say nope, I’m done. Just remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You have made it this far through the year, so you can get through the next two months.
2. Only X number of days until spring break
Walking the halls, you look at the doors and on at least 5 there is a countdown to the glorious day when finals are over, and summer break starts!
3. Spring break was too short
One week was not enough to give me a mental break and let me hit the point where I am so bored I am ready to get back. I know I am not the only one who wishes college spring break was at least a little longer.
4. How much can I sleep in before I miss my first class?
I know I caught up on some much-needed sleep over break, but everywhere I look students are sleeping or claiming to be tired. I think we all need to just nap for a year.
5. How many classes does the attendance policy allow me to skip?
Even those students who attend every single class are starting to feel the extra stress of post spring break. Some professors give their students built in absences, and for those that have not missed any classes, this is the time where they start cashing them in.
Most people are being sarcastic when these thoughts come out, but they are feeling the stress and need a way to express that.
