Art Cart in Bryant Park

Bring the kids, pull up a chair and grab a marker… Art Cart is a free program located on the north side of the Public Library Terrace where children imaginations are able to run wild on paper. From now until the end of October, 11am-8pm on daily basis if weather permits, Bryant Park Art Cart provides craft supplies for children to use. The drawing lesson consists of an artist teaching drawing techniques such as lines, shading, and crosshatching on paper. These techniques will help children learn to express themselves and teach them the foundation of visual art. The Structured Play is where two artists lead a one-hour specialty class. Programs include collages, pattern stencils and many creative projects that all children will love to make. Kids are allowed to color and create whatever they want. This event is completely free and worth stopping by to enjoy with your creative children.

Madame Tussauds Kids Go Free

Through October 29th, Madame Tussauds is offering free admission for (2) children under 12 years old when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. There is so much to do and see for adults and kids at this fabulous interactive museum. This past summer, Madame Tussauds opened “Ghostbusters Experience” which has adults and kids riding off in victory on a replica of Ecto-2 motorcycle complete with a green screen photo opportunity. Ghostbusters fans will surely love the experience. Guests will also have a chance to upgrade to “Ghostbusters: Dimension Hyper-Reality Experience” which has players utilizing THE VOID’s technology to allow players to step beyond reality and into the world of the Ghostbusters. Within this world, kids are able to team up in threes, will grab proton packs and suit up for their very own ghost-busting quest, trapping and blasting their way through New York City apartment.

The second coolest part of Madame Tussauds is the Marvel 4D Experience where Marvel lovers can take pictures with their wax-figure super heroes such as Thor, Hulk, Iron Man and many more. The Marvel 4D Experience has audience members, wearing 3D glasses, to enjoy and interact their favorite Marvel movie. It’s not your typical boring movie theatre experience. The Marvel 4D is different because of how children are able to touch and see things come from the movie. Lastly, this Museum has over two hundred waxed figures of celebrities and famous people dispersed over five different floors. Selena Gomez fans are able to check out their singer at Madame Tussauds or Football players to see their idol, Eli Manning. Madame Tussauds New York, prominently located in the heart of Times Square, is more than just a wax museum. It’s a great family experience that children will never forget.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
