It's not easy being a woman. We are constantly reminded that we have to look our best, or at least younger than we are, especially if we're no longer in our teens and twenty's. Once I hit my thirties, I began to notice wrinkles around my eyes and less elasticity around my neck and chest area. To be completely honest, it freaked me out.
I began to panic thinking "this is the end of my youthful skin. Once it's gone, I'm never getting it back." But after doing some heavy duty searching of beauty blogs and videos, I came to learn that there are two very basic skincare steps that help elongate the life of skin. The first step is to use toner. Now some people might have heard that toner should be for oily skin, but that's not true. Toner is essential for keeping any skin clean and healthy.
After cleansing your face, it is important to use toner because it helps to clear out the pores and prepare the skin for any other products you might use. The second step is to moisturize. Moisturizing doesn't only fight dryness but also helps to prevent those little marks of life, wrinkles, from forming too. That's not to say wrinkles will never form if you moisturize, but moisturizing will slow down the formation of wrinkles helping to improve the look and feel of your skin.
I can personally attest to the fact that toning and moisturizing have been beneficial to my skin. I used to hate toning and moisturizing, but in the months since I have consistently done both, I have noticed how much smoother and clearer my skin has become.
I never thought my skin could go backward and improve, but it has. And so can yours. If you never do anything else, remember to tone and moisturize; your skin will thank you for it.
