Who says that dates need to be expensive to have a good time? Newsflash, they don't! If you live near the Twin Cities, here are 15 date spots that would be perfect for you and your significant other, or even just your friends to go on this spring! Oh, and the best part is that they are all under $15!

1. Coffee at Spyhouse

Nothing quite beats a delicious Caramella from Spyhouse with a cute date. You also have five different cafes in the Twin Cities to choose from, and they all have their own unique vibe.

2. Foshay Observation Deck

The Foshay Tower was the first skyscraper built in Minnesota and was considered to be the tallest until 1971. There is a lot of cool history within the building, and for just $10 you can browse around the little museum and step outside on the observation deck for an excellent view of the city!

3. Mickey's Diner

Everybody has to have a date at Mickey's Diner at least once in their life! It is open 24 hours, 365 days of the year. Also, it is cheap, delicious, and you may even recognize it from "The Mighty Ducks" movie.

4. The Riverview movie theatre

For $3 you can see second-run movies on a huge screen, in a cute place! What else could you want?!

5. A trip to the MIA or Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Spend some time exploring the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Once you start the hours will just fly right by. Otherwise, head to the Minneapolis sculpture garden which is a great place to wander and talk among some fun sculptures. It is also a great place to take cool pics! Grab a coffee before you head here and I guarantee you will have a great time.

6. The annual MSP International Film Festival

This awesome festival has been happening for the past 37 years in Minneapolis. It takes place on April 12-28 at the St. Anthony Main Theatres. At this event, more than 200 feature-length, short narrative, and documentary films from all over the world are presented. The general admission ticket is $14, but if you are under 25 years old, it is $8.

7. The Como Zoo

Fun date, free (donations appreciated), and cute animals. Sounds perfect to me!

8. A walk along the Stone Arch Bridge

A great view, right in the heart of the city!

9. The Minneapolis Art-A-Whirl

A free event, open to the public where you can view over 650 artists in every medium at multiple locations throughout Northeast Minneapolis. The event is presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA). The event takes place annually throughout the 3rd weekend of May. Here are this year's dates and hours:

Friday, May 18th – 5:00-10:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 19th – Noon-8:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 20th – Noon-5:00 p.m.

10. Get some ice cream at Izzy's or Sebastian Joes

Both ice cream places are delicious, so you can't go wrong at either!

11. Electric Fetus

Electric Fetus is a music shop that has all of your music needs from local artists to Grammy award winners. Sometimes it is fun to wander around the store and see what cool things you can find! What's even better is when you bring somebody with you.

12. Hard Times Cafe

A popular cafe in Minneapolis where the food is amazing (lots of vegan options too!), students study, people socialize. The food is also super cheap which is nice. Oh, and make sure you bring cash if you go because that is the only form of payment that they accept. I highly recommend their quesadillas!

13. Concert or dance night at First Avenue or The 7th Street Entry

So, this might be the only thing on the list that may exceed $15, but it is a great one. There are shows at the Entry which tend to cost $15 or less which are fun! Also, over in the First Avenue main room, there are concerts and dance nights which are usually under $30! You can check out the event schedule here.

14. Smoothie bowls at Cafe Astoria

These smoothie bows seem to have become the new trend in the Twin Cities. They are delicious, so why not enjoy one with a cute date on a Sunday morning?

15. Watch the sunset at the end of Summit Ave

Honestly, THE cutest date spot in the Twin Cities. Just drive all the way down Summit Avenue in St. Paul, past Macalester College and St. Thomas University and you will come to a park and there lie the cliffs. You will most likely see people there so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Which date are you going to go on?

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
