By the time you'll have read this, it'll be January of 2017. The first month of the year is where people try to work off their holiday indulgences and sluggishly return back to routine. However, it's also a new start -- a new persona to invest in.
Already been through 19 years and going on 20, an estimated number of 240 months, I can say that the next 12 months will probably be the same. I will have new goals, continuing goals, and some on-hiatus goals. I'm still trudging forward, looking for a good year.
The new year is always followed by some kind of resolution. Maybe this year I'll lose 10 pounds. I'll start my own product. I'll be discovered somewhere, at some point. There'll be wishes ridden with hope. How can I promise myself to live up to these goals? I asked myself for the previous 240 months...but assuming I'll live until old age or an estimated number of 960 months, well, I've still got time.
I figured that resolutions aren't really a fresh start. They are continuing resolutions from the previous months before the date January 1st, and they will continue to be there until we complete them. What's important about New Year's resolutions is that they allow us to see how much we've progressed and how much more we still have to go. They're a moment of realization, with no bad or good intention, just progress. And as long as you or I continue to grow upon our resolutions, then hope and success will soon follow.
Happy New Year!
