As kids, we had no idea how much insight SpongeBob would have on our college careers. But after watching a million episodes a day with the kids I babysit, I am starting to realize that absorbent and porous sponge actually nailed it right on the head: from doing homework and warning us of the trials of getting up in the morning, to dealing with people in general. Honestly, when doesn't SpongeBob relate to all aspects of your life? (Besides the whole being-a-sponge-living-in-a-pineapple-under-the-sea thing...)
1. Meeting your professor the first day:
*assigns three-page paper over syllabus week*
2. Waking up for any class before noon:
God forbid you have any 8 a.m. classes...
3. When someone starts grinding up on you at the bar:
Seriously, why is grinding still a thing?
4. When you miss a day of class:
How did they cover a whole chapter in 50 minutes??
5. When you spot that cute guy/girl from biology from across the party:
6. Calling your parents with your problems and they're just like:
Don't even bother asking for money.
7. How you feel after going to the gym one day for 30 minutes:
Half of which you were texting, snapchatting, and scrolling through your Insta feed.
8. When you're the Sober Monitor for the night:
Note the pizza.
9. When the annoying know-it-all answers a question in class:
"Well you see, professor, the actual definition of the word in Latin is...."
10. How you feel when you go to an actual restaurant for food instead of the dining hall:
Finally something that's fresh and has some nutritional value!
11. When your friend drives you to class:
12. Going to class after a night out, like:
You're not fooling anyone. Professor included.
13. Running away from your responsibilities, like:
You can run, but you can't hide.
14. Your mind during finals week:
Calc, art history, biology, oh my!
15. When you walk into a frat party:
Cue your feet sticking to the floor.
16. Seeing your professor/TA out in public:
Every student's worst nightmare
17. After stalling for hours, you finally start your homework:
*cue snack break*
18. When you finally start getting a grip on your life:
20. Knowing this will be what your life is like after college...
...so treat every day until graduation like:
So step into your square pants, grab your spatula, and scream, "I'm ready for school to start this year!"
