I turn 20 years old in a week, and since I’m leaving my teens behind, I’ve thought a bit about things I’ve done. And I think that there are a few things that everyone should do before they turn 20:

1. Eat mac and cheese

I never knew that NOT eating mac and cheese was so offensive.

2. Leave your home state or leave the country

You gotta go explore, you know?

3. Have a stereotypical sleepover

Because you always needs a night with just your friends.

4. Have a night you can’t remember

I can't remember what I was going to say about this.

5. Go stargazing with your friends

You need to have an existential crisis while looking up at the universe at least once.

6. Do something that scares you

Like eating mac and cheese. Or skydiving.

7. Swim in the ocean

Have your dramatic Ariel-on-the-rock moment. Or try to.

8. Climb a mountain

And look at the world sprawled beneath your feet. Preferably in the fall.

9. Have a impromptu dance party at 2am

With the music on full volume.

10. Buy something expensive that you don’t need

Treat yo self.

11. Tell someone how you really feel

Holding things in just really isn't what you want to do.

12. Go on a roadtrip

So you can lower your windows and blast your music until you're deaf.

13. Learn how to change a tire

So you can be the savior of the day on your roadtrip.

14. Skip class

Who needs a college degree?

15. Spend a day doing absolutely nothing

Except maybe watching Netflix and eating.

16. Go camping

WITHOUT your phone.

17. Go to a concert

You don't even have to know who's playing. Just go.

18. Learn something new

And all that new stuff you learned in Math class doesn't count.

19. Go skinny dipping

Make sure it's in the summer!

20. Have a deep a conversation with a stranger

It's easier to be honest with someone you don't know and will never see again.

There are a few things on this list that I haven’t done yet—I’ve never had mac and cheese in my life, and I haven’t changed a tire either. But I’ve got a week to go, who knows that’s in store!

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
