You're waiting in line. Excitement fills your body. You're finally in the venue, waiting for the concert to start. As the starters begin to play, you prepare yourself for the main show: Twenty One Pilots. The anticipation grows and finally you hear the lyrics, "My name's Blurryface and I care what you think." The crowd goes crazy. From the skeleton masks, to the energetic atmosphere, and even to the drumming on the crowd, you just had your best concert experience and you don't want it to end.
This is just a small glimpse into what a Twenty One Pilots concert entails. As cousins who have went to two of their concerts and plan to go to two more in the next year, we decided to co-write this article and share how this band has been so influential and why they're our favorite band.
Their songs mean something.
Their songs all mean something: "Car Radio" shows how much your thoughts can consume you, and that you have to face them head-on, "Tear In My Heart" allows you to see that with every wonderful relationship comes difficulties and it's important to work through that and notice that you're alive, "Fairly Local" makes a point that we should not let labels define us, and the favorite "Holding On To You" says to take control of your own thoughts, and to not allow others to control your thoughts.
With so many amazing songs, car rides and concerts are always spent singing along to each and every lyric.
They have the best live shows out there.
When going to a Twenty One Pilots show, you will never be bored. They put on a spectacular show for their audience. They're energetic, talented, funny, and all-around fun to be around. They also have the best lighting and displays at their shows. The very first time we went to one of their shows, they had an intense display of lights that definitely caught our attention in the most positive way. The most recent show of theirs that we went to, they had a huge screen across the back of the stage that displayed cool graphics and pictures. I can promise that whenever you go to one of their live shows, you will never be disappointed. The best part? They will literally drum on the crowd.
Because they're hard not to love.
They're best friends and everything they do is hilarious. They wear masks, do crazy dance moves, interact with fans, make jokes, and simply put, they are great guys.
Throughout these past few years watching them go from the small, local venue to the biggest venue in town has been an honor. Each and every concert has allowed us to become even bigger fans. We'll always be in the Skeleton Clique.
