There are many movies out in society that teach valuable lessons. Specifically 21 movies that are empowering to women and should be watched before the age of 21.

  1. "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants": No matter what you go through in your life your friends will always be there for you, even if you miles apart.
  2. "Breakfast at Tiffany’s": Although independence is important, it is also important that we find our place in this world, with our people.
  3. "Frozen": As one of the only Disney fairytales that does not require a prince to save the day, it teaches women that they do not always need a man in their life.
  4. "The Help": It is possible to overcome adversity, and if kindness doesn’t kill them a little at home baking might do the job ;)
  5. "Brave": Even though you may not always agree with your mom, or parents they usually know what is best for you no matter what age you are.
  6. "The Wizard of Oz": It takes courage, a heart, and a brain to master a complicated path.
  7. " Mean Girls": We are all different, but special in our own way, and we need to work together to better the world for generations of women to come.
  8. "Alice in Wonderland": Sometimes it takes going down a rabbit hole or into the looking glass to truly appreciate who we are.
  9. "My Fair Lady": We can become anyone that we hope to be if we put in the work.
  10. "Malala": Opportunities in life are not universal; do not take advantage of the little things, because some risk their lives to get that.
  11. "Jane Eyre": Inner strength is a beautiful thing, and it is inside all of us, even if it is deep down.

  16. "Wild": Sometimes we need to take a step back from our hectic lives to be able to make sense of it all.
