11 Tweets That Portray The Philadelphia Flyers' Season So Far

In This Article:

As a Flyers fan, I've grown numb to the feeling you get when your favorite team loses a game. While it hurts to see the team skate off the ice in defeat, I can't help but get excited when the next game is about to start. Then I'm stuck with the feeling of defeat as this one loss becomes a losing streak of games.

Naturally, I complain when I don't get the results I want to see, as does every other human being.

I try to stay positive about the remaining games in the season (it's only October), but I can't help but let my disappointment slip out every once in a while. Of course, the internet is absolutely no help in keeping your head up about your team's future, but it's sometimes relieving to know that other fans feel the same way about a loss that you do.

Of all the social media sites out there, Twitter seems to be the most popular among hockey fans. It's very tempting to log on to the site and express your thoughts at that moment, rather than seeing how everything plays out later. That's especially true when it comes to Flyers fans.

In celebration of the team's most recent loss to the Boston Bruins, I went to Twitter and picked out 11 of my favorite tweets that show just how our season is going so far:

1. Me too, Gritty

Gritty's falling harder than the Flyers' league rank.

2. A movement I can get behind

This is something all fans wish for on a daily basis.

3. I was also guilty of this

It's almost frustrating to see your favorite team not do so hot after so long.

4. Some people think it's a coaching problem

As the season goes on, I can only imagine we'll be seeing more complaints about the Flyers' head coach, Dave Hakstol.

5. Yeah

This is something I would like to see just once. After that, we'll decide what's gonna happen.

6. There's still hope!

No joke, the Flyers faced a ten game losing streak last season and still made playoffs! It's still incredibly early in the season and honestly anything can happen.

7. Simple math

This is a point that you don't have to be a super genius to make. The Flyers haven't won back to back games yet, and it's not just bad luck bringing us down.

8. Update on the score:

The Flyers just lost their most recent game to the Boston Bruins, with the ending score being 3-0. Naturally, Flyers and Bruins fans alike took to the internet to make a joke regarding the Flyers' mascot's jersey number.

9. Our team is full of talent...

... it's just a matter of having the right coaching staff to figure out what works well and what doesn't.

10. It's uncanny

Not to diss on the Blues without reasoning, but it's scary how similar these teams are in management and performance.

11. At the end of the day, we're fans for a reason

I'm always ready to watch a hockey game, whether I know the outcome or not. I've never been one to be called an optimist, but I know that there's no sense in being permanently upset about something you can't control.

I talk about this team a lot, both on Twitter, and in my everyday life. Whether it's good or bad, the Flyers will always be my team and I'll gladly accept the end results of any game. I know that I'm just one person, and a whole team is never going to care about what I may have to say, but I hope they know that I genuinely enjoy watching them tear up the ice.

I scream at my laptop on many occasions and tend to go on and on about how much better something can be done, but it's out of my love and overall passion for the game. These raw emotions are one of the most interesting parts about hockey as a sport.

In the end, Flyers fans are passionate, dedicated and only want what's best for the team, even if we don't actually know what the best is.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
