'Twas the night before finals, when all across campus
Every student was stirring, and scouring Canvas.
All their coffees were drunk with not a drop to share,
Hoping their teachers would give a point to spare.
The books were spread out across all their beds,
They were all clearly in over their heads.
Girls wearing pajamas and guys wearing caps;
No one wanted to shower after their naps.
When out on the lawn, they walked to their class,
Everyone shaking from the caffeine in their glass.
Away to their final they crawled to the chair,
Wondering how each will fare.
The test placed before them on the broken old table,
Needing a quick start from jumper cables,
Now in their sight an F or a D,
They all give up hope for an A or a B.
The teacher was cheery,
The students were dreary.
Faster than light, the time passed on by.
They gave up all hope and each said goodbye.
No rasher! No answer! No chancer or fixin,
On vomit, on failure, no honor, all quittin,
To the top of the porch, to the top of the dorm,
All student were hoping next year would be norm.
The teachers that morning all gave a whistle,
For all of them, this day is no missile.
They all exclaimed with a leap.
“Happy Finals to all, and to all no more sleep!”
