Getting hooked on TV shows is my middle name.

Is there anything truly better than lighting some candles, wearing your comfiest sweats, having some snacks by your side, and watching your favorite show? I think not. This is what I like to call some good quality me time. With the hectic lives we live, we all need a chance to sit down and unwind. Getting hooked on TV shows is my middle name. Once I find a show that I love, I revolve my life around it.

Life can get stressful sometimes, so it's nice to forget about your worries and focus on those of your favorite fictional character instead. Here are some shows that I think you would really miss out on if you didn't check out.

1. "Gossip Girl"

Words cannot explain my love for this show. With its good-looking cast, designer references, and juicy tales of scandal and betrayal, "Gossip Girl" is a CLASSIC. I have watched the entire series three times. And every single time I've watched it, I have never gotten bored. The title may give off a feminine and/or girly vibe, but I really do think that this show has something for everyone. This show follows the lives of the elite Upper East side teens and the scandals they get themselves into. It may not sound like a lot, but trust me, it is SO entertaining.

2. "Shameless"

This show. Oh my god. It is truly one of a kind. I guarantee you, you will get hooked from the first episode. With its crude humor and unexpected plot twists, "Shameless" is a show that you really can't miss out on. Honestly, I would give a basic plotline, but I really don't think that words would do it justice. I have never heard of anyone watching "Shameless" and not loving it. If you don't like this show, I'm not sure we can be friends. I know I should've given a general description on it, but just trust me on this one, and go and watch the first episode.

3. "The Mindy Project"

The good ole "Mindy Project." There's a special place in my heart for this show. It follows the life of the clumsy yet lovable Dr. Mindy Lahiri, a successful Indian American OBGYN. Mindy can be found alternating between dealing with her quirky co-workers and workplace mishaps and the ups and downs of her crazy love life. Mindy, like the rest of us, is obsessed with romcoms and is on the hunt for her own happy fairytale ending. Her character is super relatable. I think that we can all find a little bit of Mindy Lahiri in ourselves.

4. "This Is Us"

This show is honestly EVERYTHING. It is the only show that I have actually sobbed while watching. It will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. It's a heartfelt, emotional show that will really get you hooked. Although it's so different than "Shameless," "This Is Us" is also one of those shows that you really cannot miss out on. Also, like "Shameless," I don't think words will do it any justice. The ending of each episode leaves me speechless. This show will seriously have you in your feels, so do yourself a favor, and WATCH.

5. "Black Mirror"

I thought I'd end this list with one of the most unique shows I've watched. Each episode of "Black Mirror" is different, but it follows one central theme: the curse of technology on society. Some say that each episode is connected in some deep, underlying way. This may be true, but it hasn't been verified by the creators. Each episode shows us, in what seems to be a futuristic society, how technology can lead to our demise. I promise you, after watching just one episode of this show, you will be HOOKED. Each episode ends in such an unexpected and twisted way that will literally leave your mouth hanging. With technology being such a huge part of our lives, I suggest you give this show a watch, especially if you're into the whole dystopian society/robots-taking-over-the-world scene.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
