Through the stresses of school and responsibilities, it is vital that every girl has an escape from the real world. There is no better way to find that escape than turning on Netflix and cuddling on the couch watching your favorite show. These are 5 shows that every teenager girl needs to watch before she leaves the world that is high school...

1. Greys Anatomy

A show about medicine and heartbreak that can bring anyone to tears within the first 5 minutes. It is nearly impossible to not get attached to the storyline and even find yourself falling in love with the medicine aspect of it. Not to mention, the chemistry between all of the characters makes you wish you were also a doctor at Seattle Grace Hospital (and that you could see Derek Shepherd's hair each and every day).

2. Parenthood

This is the type of drama that you need to watch with your mom and a box of tissues close by. The aspect of family is so important to the Braverman clan and it inspiring to see how their family all joins together in needs of need. Parenthood is the show that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach while also leaving you at the edge of your seat.

3. Desperate Housewives

Although Desperate Housewives is entitled a drama I would classify it has a dramedy. This show follows the women of Wysteria lane and there is never a dull moment. The women are always involved in conflicts with each other, with their husbands, or with various villains. Desperate Housewives gives a new meaning to the term "housewives" and between every dramatic moment, there are about a million laughable moments. The characters are so different, yet go so well together that everybody watching cannot help but to relate each woman in their own way.

4. One Tree Hill

This show begins while the characters are struggling their way through high school and finding out where they all belong. The characters must go through school while balancing freidnships, sports, and relationships. The drama is centered around the sport of basketball, but the plot is much deeper than that. The show addresses issues that every teenager has struggled with at some point, while still allowing moments for comedic relief.

5. Criminal Minds

Now compared to all the other shows, Criminal Minds seems out of the place. However, it is the perfect show for every teenager to watch (just not at night, in the dark). This show keeps you alert and allows you to because an FBI profiler yourself. You spend most of the episode trying to solve the crime before the detectives are able to. Also, in between each case, there is drama involving the agents' personal lives that is impossible to not get sucked into. At times this show is creepy or frightening even, but most of the time you are so enthralled with the case you are too busy to notice.

So now that you know the best shows to binge watch, what are you waiting for? These shows will allow you to smile, laugh, and even cry. The perfect balance of each and exactly what every teenager needs.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
