We've all been stuck at home, watching youtube, Netflix, and doing whatever we can to keep ourselves busy. I thought this would be helpful for anyone who is running out of things to watch. Here is a list of some of my favorite movies and TV shows. I promise they are all worth checking out.
TV Shows
1. The 100
GiphyThe 100 is on Netflix and has quickly become a new favorite of mine. There are 6 seasons on Netflix and season 7 is now premiering every week on the CW. After almost 100 years of living in space due to a nuclear war destroyed planet, the leaders on the spacecraft (the Ark) send 100 prisoners, all under 18, down to earth to see if it is survivable as they are running out of air and space aboard the ark. The story follows the kids to the ground and is about how they may serve on earth alone. I watched the 6 seasons in about 5 days and couldn't stop watching it. This will defiantly fill your time during quarantine and you won't regret watching it.
2. Manifest!
GiphyManifest is on NBC and Hulu. It has 2 seasons out, and it is a great show with mystery and more. This show follows the story of the passengers from flight 828. After a plane disappears and is said to be gone, it reappears ready to land 5 years later. The passengers on the plane didn't age a day or know of the time difference, but for the rest of the world, the plane had been missing for 5 years. It is very interesting to see family dynamics change when they return. One of the family's had a father and son on flight 828 and the mother and the son twin sister had taken an earlier flight, now the twins are 5 years apart.
3. Gossip Girl
GiphyThis is an all-time favorite of mine. It is on Netflix and has 6 seasons. This show follows Mahattens elite through high school and into college. In the show there is a blog site called "Gossip Girl", no one knows who gossip girl is, which pretty much has control of the students. People send in tips to Gossip Girl and they are reviled on the site. So because all of their secrets are reveled, these elite have a lot on their plate as they try to figure out themselves and their lives.
Movies
1. Catch Me If You Can
GiphyThis is my overall favorite movie and if you haven't seen it you need to! This is based on a true story about a teenager in the 1960s who discovers that he can forge checks. He is also a master of deception and ends up traveling the world with these "skills". It takes more than a year for the police to catch on and once they do one cop sets his mind to catch him, which takes 4 years. This movie is thrilling and will have you eager to know more about the story as you watch it. I think it is very cool that it is based on a true story. The main characters are played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. I promise this is worth watching, everyone I know who has seen it, loves it.
2. Nerve
GiphyThis movie is about a game of dare that is brought to an all-new level. The players on the game are given dares by watchers, the more dares they complete the more money they will accumulate but if they don't complete it they lose it all. In the game they are not allowed to mention it to people who are not already a watcher or player. As you get further into the game the dares become more crazy and dangerous. This movie is thrilling and will have you at the edge of your seat.
3. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
GiphyIf you enjoy documentary-style films or Zack Efron you will probably enjoy this movie. It is on Netflix. This movie portrays the story of Ted Bundy and his relationship with his wife and family but also his story of being a serial killer. I think the movie is very well made and interesting to watch in how he is able to maintain a somewhat normal life in the eyes of the people around him for a while, but later it becomes apparent to them and others that he is responsible for many deaths of innocent girls.
