TV Shows To Binge-Watch Before School

It’s easy nowadays to be engulfed in a show until it’s 4 am and you’ve watched two seasons of it, but it’s sometimes harder finding something to actually start. If you’re trying to cram in a show or two before the school year starts, then check out this list of shows, new and old, that are definitely worth getting into.

"Sense8"

There’s so many wonderful things I could say about this show, one of them being the diversity. This show sets itself around the world in multiple different countries, with each character having a different story line. The eight people in the show are all connected through their mind and the show travels through the world to tell their story. What is fantastic about this show is how seamlessly the varying characters can blend into one. There’s plenty of drama, violence, and romance to keep you on your seat.

"Spartacus"

I found this show as it was airing its final season, and I was immediately hooked. “Spartacus” (as you can probably guess) follows the tale of the fighter Spartacus against the Roman empire and his (spoiler alert unless you know the history) eventual demise. There are plenty of fight scenes and the sets are very interesting. Be wary for there is a lot of swearing and campy sex scenes but I think it’s even enjoyable if that’s not your thing. It’s a show that doesn’t hide its crazy, which is what I loved about it.

MTV "Scream"

Of course, we’ve all heard of the movie from the nineties starring Neve Campbell, but this show is a fresh twist on that tale. It’s very “high school” and a bit corny in the dialogue, but it’s definitely a show that keeps you on edge. And if you’re a horror fan, it has a fair bit of gore and suspense. The show is currently on its second season and the first season can be found on Netflix, so you can get watching immediately!

"Supernatural"

For a show that’s been on for so long, this show has been doing extremely well for itself because of its dedicated fan-base. Starring Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, this show follows two ghost-hunters through their different cases. If you’re looking for something that explores the supernatural side, this show is perfect, particularly up to season five (I myself stopped watching after then because I explored new shows). The humor is slapstick while the show itself is fairly dramatic. Overall, it’s just plain enjoyable. This show is also on Netflix, so give it a watch!

"Parks and Recreation"

Yes, this is a show you definitely should watch if you haven’t. I waited for so long because I wasn’t sure what the hype was, and then as soon as I watched, I understood. It’s hilarious, packed with extremely diverse characters, and the focus of the show is on a woman (which I’m always for). It also stars a fresh Chris Pratt before "Guardians of the Galaxy." And he’s still just as cute in it. The episodes are only 20-so minutes, so it’s easy to get through multiple seasons in a day if you’re a veteran.

And it’s also host to some of the best reaction images ever.

All of these are at least a season long and will give you plenty of time to watch. These shows can just be the start of one of your binge-watching nights, so you can choose a genre, get some popcorn, and click play!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
