T.V. Shows

I do not have much down time on my hands, but when I do I always try to watch my favorite T.V. shows. I am currently watching Law and Order: SVU or Special Victim's Unit. Some of the T.V. shows that I am watching are crime shows, some are doctor shows and some are fiction (vampires and werewolves). It takes me a while to find something that I like after finishing a series. I know that other's, like you, will have trouble finding a show as well. I am going to give a few recommendations that might or might not help you find something that interests you.

1. Criminal Minds

I love this show mostly because of the relationship between the group of people. They are a great group of people that love their jobs and their families. They are always there for one another. This show is about a group of people that search for killers/rapists/serials.

2. Castle

This is another crime show. I honestly think this a great show because of the people that play the characters. I love that they love their work and I love that they come together and become a couple. This show makes me think that love is real.

3. Grey's Anatomy

I am pretty sure everyone knows about Grey's Anatomy but if you have not watched it, then I highly recommend this show. Even if you think you won't enjoy it, you really will enjoy it. It sinks your claws into you and hooks you. Then there is no going back after that.

4. The Walking Dead

This show is about zombies. Yes, zombies. I love this show. It is basically a family of different people that stick together to try and survive the apocalypse. I think that this show is for anyone that likes thrills and action.

5. H.O.U.S.E.

I can not even describe how good this show is. You just have to watch it, I am a Pre-Med major so I can relate to this show a lot because they are all doctors working together to save patients' lives. I think the actors are the best and they fit the characters perfectly.

Now I know that some of these shows may not appeal to you at first, but I am positive, that they will become appealing if you just watch a few episodes first. They will then, become very appealing to you.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
