"Copper boom" and "you got it dude" were such iconic lines that explain why their origin show led to a revival. From "Gilmore Girls" to "Full House" and most recently "Will and Grace" and "Roseanne," there has been a rising trend in television show reboots. We can only hope that these shows follow suit.
1. "Friends"
Probably one of the most wanted reboots, "Friends" joins people together simply through their theme song. Giving way to much debate over words like "we were on a break," "Friends" is still maintaining relevance. More often than not, a Monica and a Joey can be distinguished in a group of friends, which makes the show itself so much more identifiable. Talk shows, social media, and even celebrities have been begging for a reunion of these characters whether it be just a special or an entire series. We'll take it.
2. "The Office"
Five years post-finale and we still cannot get over this epic show that captured a workplace in such a heartwarming way. Many die-hard fans may agree with me that we need redemption for the last two seasons. The final episode did make up for it a little. However, we can't help but hold onto this one and rightfully so. Several castmates have commented on whether they would participate in a revival. Jenna Fischer, aka Pam, loves the idea of a revival so long as the original writer takes charge. The ball is in your court, Greg Daniels.
3. "Drake and Josh"
Arguably the best show to come off of Nickelodeon, "Drake and Josh" had people paranoid over little girls named Megan. For those that frequented Vine and follow YouTube, you may have seen Josh Peck thriving in Hollywood. On Twitter, you may have seen Drake Bell's mugshot.
So, picture this. Drake and Josh have completely switched roles. Josh's turnaround in luck has finally gotten him to meet Oprah and Helen to like him.
4. "Freaks and Geeks"
The show that lasted only one season still managed to amass such a devoted following that they have been asking for a reunion since it was canceled. Unfortunately, it was just wrong timing for the show. At the time, It had an erratic time schedule and rivaled the hit sitcom "Friends." With its post-success on younger generations, it could stand a chance.
5. Sex and the City
The characters itself represented female empowerment in very different ways. With a rise in the women's movement, a revival of this rom-com drama could really do our society a service. Though, this may be hard to come by with all the beef between real-life Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones. Also, there is that Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda is apparently running for governor in New York.
6. Friday Night Lights
Sadly, NBC left us lost with clouded eyes and empty hearts when they decided to drop the show. However, since Matt Saracen and Tim Riggins have found their way onto streaming sites like Netflix, they have garnered fans that are desperately wanting for its return. The abrupt ending left us with Michael B. Jordan and wondering Riggs's unpredictable future. We need this.
