TV Series Worth Obsessing Over

1) LOST

Lost survivors of a plane crash from different walks of life must work together to survive on a mysterious, dangerous, and potentially supernatural island. First tv show obsession I ever had. The finale is a true twist.

2) Gilmore Girls

A feel-good and heart-warming storyline. 'Gilmore Girls' is a funny, insightful and genuinely well-written show that follows a single mom and her daughter as they navigate relationships, friendships, and family life in a close knit small town. Sounds simple- but there's always something stirring things up in Stars Hallow!

3) One Tree Hill

A complicated story about the rivalry and eventual relationship between two half brothers who grew up in the same town but under very different circumstances. This show went on for a long time and one of the best things about it was the quality of the writing and the obvious character development throughout the seasons.

4) Grey's Anatomy

An intense medical drama that follows a group of surgical residents as they navigate their way through the hospital hierarchy, form relationships, suffer loss, and deal with complicated patients.

5) Game Of Thrones

A highly political and epic series, that follows the storylines of several kingdoms and characters are they all attempt to obtain the "Iron Throne." Despite the magical elements that are laced throughout the show- I promise it's not cheesy. Though a completely made up world, the social complexities, war, relationships, brutality, character complexity and life lessons have something to say about society today. The most real and applaudable trait of this series is that there are very few straight up villains (and even the ones represented are supposed to represent psychopaths and sociopaths that exist in society today)-and no character is 100% the protagonist all the time either. There is a lot of gray area with these characters and it's more representative of real life. 'Game of Thrones" is a thrilling and addictive saga that will turn normal people into nerdy mega-fans if given the chance.

6) The Big Bang Theory

This is a show you can 'geek out' too. It follows a group of socially awkward but highly educated 'nerds' as they live, work, and attempt to coexist with one another. One of the funniest and best written shows out there. Hilarious.

7) Criminal Minds

A suspenseful, psychological, and at times terrifying series about a team of criminal profilers as they use a psychological approach to catching the most monstrous of criminals...before it's too late.

8) House M.D

Follows a genius, yet disturbed, and highly unethical doctor as he breaks just about every rule of conduct in the book to solve the most complex and mysterious medical cases along with his diagnostic team.

9) The Middle

A hilarious comedy about a low income family full of very vibrant, distinct, and 'original' personalities as they 'figure things out' in unconventional yet highly relatable ways.

10) Modern Family

If you want to something hilarious to watch just check it out.....because this family has just about anything and everything in it too spice up a family dynamic.

11) Suits

A genius who never attended law school passes the bar exam and ends up working for a high end law firm in New York. Using shear logic and wit, Mike Ross navigates the field of law with the help of his mentor Harvey, who learns the truth about Mike but works to keep the illegal employment a secret, even under the noses of a firm full of Harvard educated lawyers.

So there you have it. Just wait until your life chills out for a little before starting any of them.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
