There are some excellent comic book/superhero shows worth checking out on Netflix in case you're not caught up in time for the new fall seasons to kick off. My last article, I broke down some shows. Here is part two of my suggestions.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

I can honestly say I watched the first five episodes of this show in its first season and quit because it just didn't feel anything like the Marvel cinematic universe. I never felt like I was missing out by not watching the show. Movies came out and I haven't been disappointed so who cares about the adventures of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Well if anyone's seen trailers for season five, there's an awesome surprise in the introduction of Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider is a character who had weak film adaptations (those bizarre Nicholas Cage flicks) so it's only right that Marvel gets to utilized the character for a TV show that could use a boost. Maybe the show has improved and I've just been missing out. Only thing is, I don't know anybody who watches the show, so that says something. But I'm all for this version of Ghost Rider. We're getting Robbie Reyes, a different rider than the traditional Johnny Blaze. Reyes is a tough LA kid with a twisted past so I'm intrigued to see what ABC has in store for the character. This pivotal character alone is making me binge through the seasons on Netflix so I can watch the new episodes. We'll see what happens but Ghost Rider and the agents take action September 20th on ABC.

GOTHAM

Another show that hasn't felt like it's taken flight as I'd like it to, this is the story of the forging years of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon. There are strong elements about this crime-drama. The relationship between Bruce and Alfred is great (pretty much the heart of the show). And the character dynamics of the villains is interesting, some more than others. "Gotham" feels a tad over-the-top at times, in the sense that it seems Fox is really psyched they have a superhero show but instead of balancing tones they just said phooey and went full-comic book nuts in logic. It's entertaining, but I'm hopeful that maybe season three can give this series the momentum it deserves. The addition of the court of owls will should set the series on the right tracks. The court of owls are the most exciting thing to happen to the Batman mythos in the last decade so let's hope Fox delivers. The tale of Bruce's formative years continue to play out as "Gotham" airs September 19th on Fox. Better hurry with catching up on Netflix.

LUKE CAGE

Saving the best for last, Netflix and Marvel's Studios have had an impressive streak so far with "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones". "Luke Cage" is the third character to be introduced in a lineup that will lead up to a superhero crossover series, "The Defenders". Luke Cage was introduced in "Jessica Jones" and honestly, I was glued every time he was on screen. There are high expectations for the series and early reviews are raving about the show so it seems Netflix has struck gold yet again. Luke Cage is going to offer a very refreshing take in the superhero genre; an invincible African-American male who takes on the underworld set in Harlem, NY (imagine Cage and Black Panther side-by-side someday in the MCU). As Netflix continues to deliver the right dosage of grit in their series, it's refreshing creatively for the fans. Netflix is able to explore Marvel characters with a lens that we don't get in their cinematic universe (blame Disney). "Luke Cage" drops September 30th on Netflix. Until then catch up on two seasons of "Daredevil" and one season of "Jessica Jones". Be sure there'll be a set up for the last installment, "Iron Fist", of the Netflix run before all these heroes converge in "The Defenders" in 2017.

So that's the end of my suggestions of superhero shows to check out. Netlfix has all seasons available so your binging desires can be met. What are you most looking forward to? Was there any series I missed to mention? Leave some comments to continue the discussion.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
